Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra

This high performance rack mounted media dock is designed to turn removable camera media into a shared, ultra fast network storage system for professional environments. It supports up to three Blackmagic Media Modules, the same solid state units used in URSA Cine cameras, allowing recorded material to be edited directly without time consuming file copying. This approach dramatically accelerates both on set and post production workflows while maintaining the portability of removable media. 

The unit is engineered for extreme bandwidth. Two independent 100G Ethernet QSFP28 connections allow multiple editing systems to access media simultaneously, with each port configurable on its own network for load balancing or separation of workflows. This makes it ideal for large DaVinci Resolve installations, DIT carts and live production environments where immediate access to camera originals is essential.

Designed for continuous professional use, the chassis occupies 3 rack units and features server style front to back airflow with multiple low noise fans for redundancy and thermal stability. Dual internal power supplies with separate IEC inputs ensure reliable operation in mission critical situations. Illuminated LED rings around each media bay provide clear visual feedback of drive activity and status. 

For monitoring and confidence checking, the dock includes both SDI and HDMI outputs. These display detailed system information such as storage usage, network throughput, cloud sync status and hardware health on a standard broadcast monitor or television. This makes system supervision simple even in complex installations. 

Integration with Blackmagic Cloud enables automatic synchronization to services such as Amazon Web Services S3, creating a global workflow where multiple locations can work on local cached media with minimal latency. Live productions benefit as well, as media can be removed instantly at the end of a show, even while files are still growing and being edited.
