Scarban is een zelfklevend siliconenverband. De siliconen hebben een zeer gunstig effect op de jeuk de uitrijping en de afwijking van het litteken. Behandeling en preventie van afwijkende littekens met siliconenverbanden eventueel in combinatie met druk is een wetenschappelijk onderbouwde therapie

Door onderzoek wordt meer en meer bekend van de werking van siliconenverband bij de behandeling van afwijkende littekens. Hoe siliconenverband precies werkt is nog niet bekend maar dat het werkt wordt door meer en meer studies aangetoond. De meest aanvaarde therorie is dat een litteken een gedeelte van de huid is dat tot wel 10x meer vocht afgeeft aan de omgeving dan de gezonde huid. Door de afdekking met Scarban siliconenverband wordt een normale huidsituatie nagebootst waardoor het huidgenezingsproces een vorm van rust krijgt die kans op afwijkende littekenvorming tot een minimum beperkt.


Gebruiksaanwijzing van Scarban

Begin met Scarban zodra de huid gesloten is en eventuele hechtingen zijn verwijderd. Kies een maat verband waarbij het litteken rondom wordt overlapt met 1 à 2 centimeter. Scarban siliconenverband is op maat knipbaar. Bouw de draagtijd van Scarban geleidelijk op totdat het verband minimaal 12 uur per dag kan worden gedragen voor het beste resultaat. Het is normaal dat resultaten pas zichtbaar zijn naar 2 tot 4 maanden gebruik. Ga door met de behandeling tot het gewenste resultaat is behaald. Na elke draagbeurt wast u Scarban met de bijgeleverde zeep. Gebruik slechts een drupje zeep om het verband te reinigen. Hiermee wast u de huidvetten en pluisjes van het verband af. Het verband daarna afspoelen met warm water en laten drogen. Scarban gaat dan gemiddeld 4-8 weken mee.

 


TIP: Wilt u Scarban siliconenverband weer als nieuw gebruiken dan kunt u het verband ook 2 minuten in water laten ‘uitkoken’ met een druppeltje Scarban zeep. Al het vuil en alle lichaamsvetten worden dan maximaal verwijderd.
