Een trots van Toscane, zo kunnen wij Villa Trasqua Trasanto het beste benoemen. Het is ook niet voor niets dat deze dessterwijn bovenaan menig menu kaart pronkt. Een sensatie waar je geen genoeg van krijgt. Het wijnhuis ligt in het midden van Toscane, ongeveer een uur ten zuiden van Florence. Villa Trasqua Trasanto is gemaakt van de Sangiovese druif, een inheemse druif welke een enorme populariteit wereldwijd heeft gekregen. Na de handmatige oogst en vinificatie wordt de wijn opgevoed op houten vaten. Maar liefst 36 maanden blijft deze in de kelders van Villa Trasqua lageren. Een ontdekking is het zeker te noemen. Want wanneer je Villa Trasqua Trasanto voor de eerste keer drinkt, wordt je blij, bijna euforisch. Wat een prachtig glas. En geniet er maar goed van, want deze dessertwijn wordt slechts sporadisch gemaakt. Alleen wanneer de oogst goed genoeg wordt bevonden, wordt Trasanto gemaakt. De intens gouden kleur in het glas, voelt al elegant. Je neus wordt verwend door een breed boeket. Je herkent honing, exotisch fruit en gedroogde pruimen. Steek je neus nogmaals in het glas Villa Trasqua Trasanto en je ontdekt karamel, noten en rozijnen. De smaak is zoet, maar geen moment te klef. I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters.
That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception.
SPOILER:
The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured.
I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action

This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4.
Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down.
There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.
