HEAL is een hyaluronzuuroplossing in sprayvorm voor plaatselijk gebruik op niet-geïnfecteerde schone wonden. HEAL draagt structureel bij aan de granulatie en de vorming van nieuw epitheelweefsel waardoor de wond sneller geneest. Bij stagnerende wonden kan HEAL de granulatie op gang brengen en bespoedigen.
HEAL is een biosynthetisch product verkregen uit de biofermentatie van bacteriën en bestaat uit 0 2% bio-gefermenteerd hyaluronzuur-natriumzout in een Ringer oplossing. Hyaluronzuur (HA) is een universeel voorkomend glycosaminoglycaan en een essentiële component in de Extra Cellulaire Matrix (ECM).
Vanaf de granulatiefase en in daarop volgende fases draagt HEAL op verschillende manieren bij aan het fysiologische helingsproces. Een hyaluronzuurverrijkte matrix vermindert de opslag van collageen waardoor minder littekenvorming. Bovendien schermt hyaluronzuur de vrije zenuwuiteinden af waardoor de wondpijn vermindert. HEAL is uitstekend te combineren met (want complementair aan) negatieve druktherapie.
