Der Deps New Silent Killer 115 ist die kleinste Version der neuen überarbeiteten Swimbait-Serie. Diese hat nun einen ABS Kunststoffkörper, welcher mit einer Silikonhaut überzogen ist. Die Auswirkungen dieser Materialkombination hat gleich mehrere positive Effekte auf Lauf und Fängigkeit. Zwischen Silikonhaut und dem ABS Kunststoffkörper ist ein Spalt, durch welches beim Einholen das Wasser strömt. Beim Austritt an der Verbindung des zweiteiligen Swimbaits trifft es auf den hinteren Teil des Körpers und sorgt für zusätzliche Wasserverwirbelungen. Fische spüren dank des extrem sensiblen Seitenlinienorgan diese leichten Verwirbelungen. Zusätzlich sorgt die Silikonhaut für eine andere Geräuschkulisse und einen besonders schwungvollen Lauf. Beim Einkurbeln wackelt der hintere Teil des Swimbaits und stößt dabei immer wieder gegen den vorderen Teil. Während dies normalerweise ein Klacken verursacht, schluckt das Silikon des New Silent Killer diesen Sound. Gleichzeitig gibt das Silikon jedoch jedes mal ein wenig nach und federt dann zurück, wodurch das Schwanzsegment regelrecht beschleunigt wird. Dadurch erlangt der Deps New Silent Killer 115 eine besonders intensive Tail Action.

Kombination aus klopfen und vibrieren

Auch im Inneren des Deps New Silent Killer 115 gab es Neuerungen im Vergleich zum Vorgänger. So hat er nun das Spring Weight Micro Vibe System. Dieses System ist eine im Kopfteil befestigte Feder mit einem Gewicht am anderen Ende. Dieses Gewicht wird bei Animation des Köders in Schwingungen versetzt und versacht jedesmal, wenn es gegen die Innenwand schlägt ein dezentes, durch die Silikonhaut gedämpftes Klopfen. Bei Einholstopps schwingt dieses Gewicht an der Feder nach und verursacht leichte Vibrationen, welche von den Fischen wahrgenommen werden. Diese dressurbrechende Kombination aus leichtem Klopfen bei Animation und sanften Vibrationen in Ruhephasen lässt auch vorsichtige Raubfische zuschlagen. Ein toller Swimbait für schwierige Gewässer!

Verschiedene Führungsstile

Den Deps New Silent Killer 115 kann man auf verschiedene Weisen führen, was ihn zu einem sehr variablen Köder macht. Die einfachste und wohl bekannteste Führungsmethode ist Cranken. Wie einen Shallow Crank kann man ihn entlang der Uferböschung einholen und bei Hindernissen aufsteigen lassen, um ihn dann darüber hinweg zu ziehen. Eine andere Option ist der "Surface Retrieve". Dabei wird er besonders langsam, aber kontinuierlich eingeholt, so dass er gerade so unter der Wasseroberfläche läuft. Dabei immitiert er hervorragend ein kleines Fischchen auf Nahrungssuche an der Oberfläche. Die dritte Option ist das "Dead Sticking". Eine Methode, die hierzulande noch nicht so weit verbreitet ist, aber gerade vorsichtige, erfahrene Fische überlistet. Bei dieser Methode wird der Köder sehr langsam und mit langen Pausen an der Oberfläche geführt. Da dies eine sehr langsame Methode ist, wird sie an ausgemachten Hotspots wie Unterständen angewandt. Diese Imitation eines sterbenden Fisches ist für viele große und erfahrene Räuber zu viel des Guten und ihnen bleibt nichts anderes übrig als zuzuschlagen.

Austauschbares Gewicht

Auch der kleine Deps New Silent Killer 115 hat ein austauschbares Gewicht an der Unterseite des Vorderkörpers. Dieses Gewicht ist in einer Aussparung des ABS Kunststoffkörpers untergebracht und unter der Silikonhaut versteckt. Mit dem passenden Werkzeug und etwas handwerklichen Geschick kann man dieses entfernen und das Laufverhalten entsprechend beeinflussen. Wenn zusätzlich die Tauchschaufel entfernt und ein spezielles Tuninggewicht hinzugefügt wird, kann man aus dem New Silent Killer 115 einen New Slide Swimmer 115 machen.

In setting the scene, Sangeet reminds us that, in the 1960s, Singapore was a struggling port city with limited natural resources and a rather tenuous future. It's hard to imagine but true. A strategic location in South East Asia. But such location meant little if it could not draw talent and capital to develop the infrastructure needed to grow, and here a deceptively simple and modular invention helped - the shipping container. Harvard Professor Carliss Y. Baldwin, in her book Design Rules, shared with us how technology shapes organisations, indeed entire industries and societal structures, and so, as we envision and put a technology to use, who decide how organisations are shaped, who governs them, and where power and agency lies.  Yet AI is not just any other technology. We are not in full control of the technology and its power to learn, re-shape itself, and its impact on the nature of work therefore extends well beyond the individual using AI tools. This is where Sangeet takes us, into a hugely relevant and timely discussion of how AI presents immense opportunities as well as grave risks to the knowledge economy, as we know it today. The questions raised are profound: among these... - How would power shift from the current ways of work we are accustomed to, towards autonomous networks that make decisions and learn on their own (and faster than us)? - Which organizational models best capture the shifts towards AI-supported value creation? and what path could such a transition follow? - How would these impact the opportunities and risks for collaboration, within and beyond the enterprise?  A whole chapter is dedicated to strategy, and deservedly so. Before we rush to layer AI on top of org. processes and models that have served us in previous generations, let’s take an ecosystem-wide view and ask - where are we now? What is fundamentally changing, and Where can we harness its trends towards an advantage? Having read Sangeet's book, my advice is this - seize the opportunity, invite others to the conversation and be open to new forms of power and control, as the organisations that win tomorrow are already experimenting in doing things differently today.
