The Pancake is affectionately named after our South Coast Ambassador, Luke O'connell – AKA Pancake. Like a whole list of underground world class surfers to come out of the area, Luke felt he needed that bit extra when traveling and competing in subpar, weak, grovely waves.
He approached us with these particular requirements in mind – It had to be high performance, super fast, yet forgiving and easy to ride, holds under back foot pressure, and have a lot of spark!
Subsequently the Pancake was born. A fuller nosed, squashed down shortboard, with a straighter outline for maximum speed, and a nice, smooth, round square to give you that familiar shortboard feel.
The Pancake will be your best summer time friend when the waves are fun, but just a little bit lacklustre. This craft will give you that extra spark you need to enjoy that fun little rip bowl at the local beach, the flatter faced point break, or that softer reef break up or down the coast.
