Execute Precise Metric Joinery with the Freud 16mm Double Flute Straight Router Bit

Achieve exacting standards in your woodworking projects with the Freud 04-540 16mm Double Flute Straight Bit. This specialized cutter is an essential tool for woodworkers dealing with metric specifications, offering a precise 16mm cutting diameter that standard fractional imperial bits cannot match. It is crafted from Freud's exclusive TiCo Hi-Density Carbide, a proprietary formulation designed to withstand high operating temperatures and maintain a razor-sharp edge up to four times longer than standard carbide cutters, ensuring consistent performance in hardwood, softwood, plywood, and abrasive composite materials.

The 04-540 is engineered for both versatility and superior finish quality. Its computer-balanced double flute geometry features precision-ground hook and shear angles that slice cleanly through wood fibers, minimizing vibration and leaving a smooth surface that typically requires no sanding. With a 3/4-inch cutting height and a standard 1/4-inch shank, this bit fits a wide range of routers while providing the stability needed for general grooving. The carbide tips are also relief-ground to facilitate safe and effective plunge cutting, allowing you to start grooves or recesses directly in the center of a workpiece for hardware installations or mortises.

Key Features

  • Metric Precision: True 16mm cutting diameter is ideal for installing metric hardware and specific joinery requirements.
  • TiCo Hi-Density Carbide: Proprietary carbide blend delivers exceptional durability and heat resistance for extended tool life.
  • Double Flute Design: Two precision cutting edges ensure fast chip evacuation and a smooth, chatter-free finish.
  • Plunge Cutting Ready: Relieved tips allow for vertical drilling and starting grooves anywhere on the material.
  • 1/4 Inch Shank: Versatile shank size fits laminate trimmers, hand-held routers, and tabletop CNC machines.
  • Precision Geometry: Optimized shear angles reduce cutting resistance and prevent burning on the workpiece.

What's Included:

  • (1) 16mm Double Flute Straight Bit with 1/4 In. Shank (Model 04-540)

Pro-Tip: It is crucial to use this 16mm bit only when 16mm is specifically required. While it is very close to 5/8 inch (which is 15.875mm), the 0.125mm difference can result in a loose fit for standard 5/8" joinery, or a fit that is too tight if trying to force 16mm hardware into a 5/8" slot. Always measure your hardware or material thickness before cutting.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.
