Before the discovery of Dark Stone, Prospectors were already a familiar sight in Brimstone and its surrounding trails, busy mining hills and panning for gold. When the Dark Stone boom began, their numbers surged rapidly as they flocked to the area to stake their claims. When the town erupted into chaos and portals opened, most Prospectors fled in fear, but those who remained either had nowhere else to go or were too determined to let otherworldly creatures take their claims.

The Prospector is a new Hero Class for Shadows of Brimstone. They are a robust close combat fighter, capable of enduring significant damage before being knocked out. Although they have low Initiative and are too set in their ways to use Guns or Tech, Prospectors are unparalleled in collecting Gold and Dark Stone, with abilities that often enable them to double their earnings.
