Wild, clean, and single-species — salmon oil done right.

Dr Mercola Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon Oil delivers DHA & EPA from 100% wild Alaskan sockeye — never blended with other fish oils. MSC certified for sustainability, minimally processed for purity, and sealed in Licaps® hard capsules to help protect against oxidation and odour.

Key benefits

Single-species purity

  • 100% salmon oil (sockeye) — no blended fish oils
  • Wild caught in Alaska — not farmed
  • Label transparency — what’s on the label is in the bottle

Clean & protected

  • Minimally processed — no solvents or molecular distillation
  • Independently tested for heavy metals, dioxins & PCBs
  • Licaps® hard capsules — oxygen-tight to help prevent rancidity

Product overview

Many “salmon oil” supplements quietly blend multiple fish oils to inflate omega-3 numbers, leading to inconsistency. Dr Mercola uses only wild caught Alaskan sockeye — a naturally rich source of DHA and EPA — to deliver a single-species oil you can trust.

The oil is minimally processed from fresh (not frozen) wild salmon: heated to extract, separated and refrigerated — no chemical solvents and no molecular distillation. Each batch is independently tested to verify contents and check for contaminants.

To defend freshness, Dr Mercola packs the oil in Licaps® hard capsules, which are hermetically sealed to limit oxygen ingress that can cause oxidation and fishy odours common with standard soft gels.

What sets Dr Mercola Salmon Oil apart

  • MSC certification — audited sustainability standards and traceability.
  • Single-species integrity — 100% salmon oil; not diluted with other fish or vegetable oils.
  • Fresh-first processing — from fresh wild salmon; no solvent extraction.
  • Independent verification — random sampling and lab testing for heavy metals, dioxins & PCBs.
  • Oxygen-tight capsules — Licaps® hard capsules help preserve potency and reduce odour.

Sustainability & traceability

MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification supports healthy fish populations and responsible fishing. Dr Mercola’s supply chain is traceable back to certified fisheries.

How to use

Use as directed on the product label. For personalised advice, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Quality & testing

  • Each batch is tested for mercury, PCBs, pesticides, dioxins and other heavy metals.
  • Label values are matched to tested contents to support dosing confidence.

FAQs

Is it really 100% salmon oil?

Yes — Dr Mercola Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon Oil is a single-species oil (wild Alaskan sockeye), not blended with other fish oils.

Farmed vs wild — what’s the difference?

Wild salmon feed naturally and typically provide a favourable omega-3 profile, without the added feeds used in aquaculture. This product is sourced from wild Alaskan fisheries and is MSC certified.

Why not soft gels?

Soft gels can contain plasticisers and may allow oxygen to enter over time. Licaps® hard capsules are sealed to help protect against oxidation and odour.

Is it independently tested?

Yes. Random sampling and third-party testing verify contents and check for heavy metals, dioxins and PCBs.

Can I take this instead of krill oil?

Both krill oil and salmon oil provide DHA & EPA. Choose the format that suits your preferences and practitioner guidance.

This is a barrier cream?
I also have very oily skin, so normally I stay away from anything that says barrier or balm. I push skin a lot lol...with max strength tretinoin, glycolic acids, salicylic acids, vitamin C... so there are times when I just need max help from a richer product bc sometimes I take it too far. LRP Cicaplast has been a staple and has saved me many a times. I bought this bc of the high percentage of ectoin, 5%, and it was so reasonably priced. When I squeezed the tube, I was really worried, it was thicker looking than the Cicaplast. However, when I spread it out, it was SO light and a tiny amount --barely a pea size, was enough to coat my face. It did not feel heavy. Even with my oily skin, I think I could wear this everyday. As an experiment, I applied any excess on one side of my hand, as I'm right handed, I would apply it on my left hand. I've had this about a week, and right now after doing the dishes, and washing my hands multiple times without any hand cream on it, my right hand is definitely drier than my left hand. My left hand also looks less red and more calm. This formula is 5 stars for both the effectiveness and the elegant formula. It may yet replace my LRP Cicaplast...we'll see!

Saved my daughter’s skin
My 21 yr old has gone from clear skin to now having cystic acne and whilst trying to get to the source of it, her skin has been painfully inflamed and constant dark red breakouts. We have tried other professional skincare’s, “no downtime” peels designed for acne, which made it worse etc. This product Finally was what gave her skin some relief, calmed the pain and inflammation, nearly stopped the breakouts and is allowing her skin to heal up. She said it felt so much better immediately after starting using it. And is so grateful for the redness and pain relief.

My go to makeup removal wipes
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 25)
CeraVe makeup wipes are perfect for traveling. Plant based, non sticky, makes makeup removal a snap and best of all it first irritate my sensitive skin. Open it up fully and simply wipe away your makeup. Place over eyes for about a minute to dissolve away mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner. Truly it’s just that easy to easy to use. For me there’s no mess or fuss with using these wipes. They are a bit pricey, but you’re paying for a quality product.
