Description

The gospel and personal evanglismEvangelism is not only largely misunderstood, it is often all but neglected among Christians today. Many want to share the gospel with others, but feel intimidated and incapable of doing so. Yet God has given us answers in the Bible that instruct and equip us to share the good news with others. In The Gospel and Personal Evangelism, Mark Dever seeks to answer the pressing questions that many Christians ask about evangelism: What is evangelism? Why

Evangelism is not only largely misunderstood, it is often all but neglected among Christians today. Why should we evangelize? Why don't we evangelize? Who should we evangelize? How should we evangelize? This book draws from New Testament truths and Dever's personal experience in sharing the gospel in order to help believers apply those truths in practical ways. As readers understand the biblical foundations of evangelism, they will begin to develop a habit of evangelism in their lives and local churches.

______________

Mark Dever (PhD, Cambridge University) is the senior pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, and president of 9Marks (9Marks.org). Dever has authored over a dozen books and speaks at conferences nationwide. He lives with his wife, Connie, and they have two adult children.

______________

“For most of us, personal evangelism is the reverse of easy, and so it becomes a task we evade. Dever writes to shake us up about this, clearing our heads as to just what evangelizing involves and motivating our hearts to go to it realistically and responsibly. This is a word in season that will surely do a great deal of good.”
J. I. Packer, Late Board of Governors' Professor of Theology, Regent College

Poorly written, but possibly best of all the garbage available today.
Format: Paperback
E&E's (including torts) are of questionable value except as an introduction to ideas and terms. The actual examples and explanations are at times self-contradictory, especially regarding the certainty of the authors in how a court would rule. I would not recommend these books to anyone going to law school if there were something better available. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with anything better at this point. Read the whole first-year series before law school if you can't find a better series.

I don't understand the Hype.
Format: Paperback
Everyone seems to love Glannon but I found other E&Es to me much straightforward and easy to understand. Don't know what it is about Glannon's writing. Not terrible, just not conducive to me for whatever reason. Negligence sections were lacking.

Came used with dirty pages
Format: Paperback
The book clearly is not new, the pages are folded over and dirty with dirt. There is a sticky residue on the back cover of the book. Really gross.
