Garmin Tread - Base Edition is a robust powersport GPS navigator for all-terrain use. Featuring a glove-friendly 5.5” touchscreen, it's IPX7 weather-resistant, built to U.S. military standard 810 for thermal and shock resistance, and comes with a powered mount and wiring harness for easy installation on your powersport vehicle. The Tread® app facilitates data syncing across various devices. Plus, direct-to-device BirdsEye Satellite Imagery downloads without needing a computer. In addition to preloaded topographic maps of North and Central America and detailed street maps of the same, it includes U.S. Forest Service Roads and trails and Motor Vehicle Use Maps for ATVs and motorcycles. With no subscription required, high-resolution satellite imagery is easily downloadable via Wi-Fi®. The unit also features growing trail database with difficulty ratings for off-road riding areas across the U.S. Notably, it comes preloaded with iOverlander™ points of interest and Ultimate Public Campgrounds, offering routes to the best campsites without requiring a cell signal. Other features include public and private land boundaries access and multi-device syncing via the Tread app. It also has built-in sensors such as an altimeter, barometer, and compass. It can be paired with select Garmin GPS dog systems for dog tracking and compatible inReach global satellite communicators for two-way text messaging, interactive SOS, and weather. Finally, spoken turn-by-turn directions are available for on-road navigation, with driver alerts for curves, red light/speed cameras, and more. Its dimensions are 5.8”W x 3.5”H x 1”D, and it weighs 9.2 oz. It has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and 64 GB internal storage, expandable up to 256 GB via microSD™.

Essential To Read Before the Class

This book provides a good overview of what you'll need to know for your AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) course and assessment. If you plan to take that course this book is a no-brainer. You just have to buy it and read it. There are a few shortcomings: * The photos of how to tie the knots skip a lot and it is impossible to learn the knots from the book. * The photos of what not to do should be clearly labeled with a red cross bar or WRONG overlay on the photo. If you flip causally through the book and look at the photos some very wrong stuff is there and you have to read the text to know that it is not recommended. * The religious debate on anchor systems rages on. Should you set up a Joshua Tree System with Tether or a Backside System? I realize the AMGA doesn't want to pick sides and will say either is acceptable, but the book doesn't even try to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various anchor systems.
