Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including coral reefs and rocky crevices around the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – feeds on small fish, crustaceans, and marine invertebrates. In captivity, provide meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, clams, and frozen marine preparations.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with larger, non-aggressive species. Avoid small fish and shrimp, which may be considered prey. Suitable for species-only tanks or carefully selected community setups.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive/predatory – generally peaceful toward larger tank mates but will hunt small animals.
Experience Level:
Advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with secure rockwork and plenty of hiding places.
