Lopepe was born in an African town called Kimotong and grew up helping his family. But one Sunday in summer everything changed when a group of rebel soldiers stormed his town in a great uproar and kidnapped a large group of children, among whom was Lopepe. Guided by three very special friends, he managed to escape and reach a refugee camp that welcomed him. The boy spent the day running to forget his hunger and to keep the memory of his mother alive, But who would have thought that running could also give you wings to fly?

Lopepe nació en un poblado africano llamado Kimotong y creció ayudando a su familia. Pero un domingo de verano todo cambió, cuando un grupo de soldados rebeldes irrumpió en su pueblo formando un gran alboroto y secuestró a un gran grupo de niños, entre los cuales se encontraba Lopepe. Guiado por tres amigos muy especiales, consiguió escapar y llegar a un campo de refugiados que lo acogió.
El chico se pasaba el día corriendo para olvidar el hambre que pasaba y para mantener vivo el recuerdo de su madre, pero ¿quién habría dicho que correr podría también darle alas para volar?
