Ryle is a no non-sense teacher. When he approaches a topic, he will leave no loose ends, cover it plainly & always end with an exhortation. This is actually a compilation of tracts that he wrote throughout his ministry on the more serious matters of Christianity. I appreciate being able to sit under his firm stance & learn from him. He certainly is an old fashioned evangelical. This book is the closest thing to a systematic of written tracts by him. It is perfect for setting a foundation on the plain ideas of the New Testament and salvation. I don’t flinch to recommend anything written by him. He may not be one of the great theologians but he is definitely a man of strong convictions. Cole Mayhugh
