If you wish to paint the edges, use appropriate paints with no solvents, as solvents

NOTE: FOR ALL 12" SIZES, ORDER THE 1/4" HANGING KIT
They are constructed from a 1/4" thick rigid polystyrene foam core sandwiched between waterproof membranes and are 12" on the long dimension. If you wish to paint the edges, use appropriate paints with no solvents, as solvents will compromise the foam core center. You can also put grout or thinset over the edges.
Treatment options for edges:
- you can paint the edges and back with paints that do not contain solvents of any kind as they will warp the board. Use latex or acrylic paints.
- you can thinset the edges
- you can grout the edges
