The first system featuring King Off Road 2.5 Race Shocks and Carli's first premier suspension kit. The Performance 2.5 has been around since day one and, naturally, has been through the longest refinement period of any Carli system. Sporting a plush street drive that will give you a"car like" feel, while still letting you pound some humps in the dirt. The first seasons chasing and running support in Baja were done using Performance 2.5 system on Carli's own Dodge Ram trucks.

The Performance 2.5 System is just another example of Carli's unwillingness to cut a single corner. Sure, they could have included short control arms, and a minipack out back, but they knew the capabilities of the shocks surpassed some of these items and that ultimately the performance of the suspension would not be fully utilized unless other upgrades were standard equipment to the system. That's why this kit is treated to Carli's signature Long Arm System and Full Progressive Rear Springs along with plenty of other high end components. The Performance 2.5 will do just about anything you can fathom, whether its nailing a whoop section or delivering you the most controlled and comfortable ride on your commute to work.

CARLI LONG ARM EQUIPPED SYSTEMS

With the release of the 3" Long Arm, comes the Long-Arm equipped Systems. The decision has been made to discontinue the older, short-arm variation of the Performance 2.5" in favor of a Long-Arm equipped, extended travel version at which you're looking at now. This system requires customers to cut off the factory control arm mounts in favor of the Carli Drop Brackets to house the internally gusseted, fully fabricated Long Arm System. These arms are over 50% longer than the factory arms boasting 3/16" construction, internal gusseting, extended travel capability, more linear travel stroke and a better ride quality given their length and position parallel to the ground.

To take advantage of the Long Arm's capability, Carli has included a 6.25" tall, slide over-design shock tower to ease installation and accommodate the longer (12" Travel) shocks. Included 1" front bump stop drops and limit straps ensure customers can dish repetitive beatings to their King 2.5" shocks with confidence of full and safe utilization of the shock's travel. In a short arm truck, it's not uncommon to see 7" of up-travel (metal to metal) and 3" of down-travel. The combination of the long arm system's 6.25" tall tower and 1" bump drop allows for the 12" travel shock and shifts the front axle's operating range down 1"; the result, 3" more down-travel when compared to a short-arm system only sacrificing 1" of up-travel. This is a far more balanced setup spec'd with 6" of up travel and 6" of down-travel ensuring the front end maintains contact over rough terrain.

CARLI TUNED LONG TRAVEL 2.5" KING SHOCK

This system boasts Carli specific, blueprinted, Long-Travel King 2.5" shocks on all four corners. For the Long Arm system, Carli designed a second, off-road oriented 5-Port custom piston opposed to the 3-Ports in a short-arm Pintop 2.5" System. This piston and long arm tuning profile alters flow of the pressurized shock oil displacing a wider surface area of the tuning shims to increase bottom-out on sharp hits while providing a predictable, comfortable street ride. ALL of Carli's King shocks are treated to shafts machined and polished from a solid piece of 17-4 Stainless. Unlike King's standard shafts, there is no coating to wear off, weather is far less likely to hurt them and if there is a small chip, you can round the edges with emery cloth to ensure the seal housing isn't damaged as they're not brittle like the stock, hardened shafts. The shocks are finished with King oil good to -55* F. Note that all King shocks are built with a plated steel body. If subjected to inclement weather for extended periods, we recommend wrapping your shocks in 3M to provide a moisture barrier that's replaceable.

Your truck will sit 3"-3.25" higher in the front (year/cab configuration dependent) with 70% more suspension travel than the factory platform thanks to the taller, linear rate coil springs. These systems require the extended travel capability of the linear spring as the free-height of the multi-rate coils was too short to reach the droop potential.

SWAY BAR TORSION OPTIONS

As this is a high-performance, no compromise system, it is highly recommended to upgrade the sway bar with Carli's Torsion Sway Bar, but extended end links are optional, and Full Progressive Leaf Springs are standard. The Carli Torsion Sway Bar removes the entire factory sway bar assembly replacing it with a torsion bar supported by fabricated drop brackets and delrin bushings. Fabricated sway bar arms and dual 5/8" FK heim end links round off the package.

TORSION SWAY BAR SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Easily the best bang for the buck upgrade for ride quality
  • Allows front suspension to move freely without giving up control
  • For trucks with 0-3" of front lift
  • Requires removal of electronic sway bar on Power Wagons
  • Torsion Bar may be black or silver zinc; depends on supply chain availability. Not requestable.

REAR PROGRESSIVE LEAF PACK

The Full Progressive Leaf Pack lift the rear 1.5-2" by replacing the entire factory leaf spring assembly increasing travel and drastically increasing comfort throughout the entire usable travel stroke at the cost of a 15% payload reduction from a standard 2500. This payload reduction can be supplemented back to factory 3500 SRW capacity with the addition of the Long Travel Airbags for the best of both worlds; ride quality and payload capacity/load control.

STANDARD FULL PROGRESSIVE LEAF SPRING KIT SPECIFICATIONS:

  • 2" rear lift maintains slight rear-high stance with Carli 3" systems
  • Softens initial spring rate at ride height
  • Minimizes axle wrap / wheel hop
  • Reduces payload to light 3/4 ton capacity
  • Capable of 15" of suspension travel with factory shackle
  • Fits 4" axle tube

HEAVY DUTY FULL PROGRESSIVE LEAF SPRING KIT SPECIFICATIONS:

  • 2" rear lift maintains slight rear-height stance with Carli 3" systems
  • Softens initial spring rate at ride height
  • Minimizes axle wrap / wheel hop
  • Designed for those with 1,500 lbs in bed at all times
  • Capable of 15" of suspension travel with factory shackle
  • Fits 4.0" axle tube

ADJUSTABLE TRACK BAR

When lifting the front end of a straight axle truck, the front axle is pulled off-center unless the proper linkages are addressed. Three inches of front lift equates to an axle shifted toward the driver's side ¾" and back toward the cab 1/2". This system includes an Adjustable Track Bar to push the axle back toward the passenger side and provide a stronger link with less deflection for the lifted application.

WHEEL AND TIRE FITMENT

This system will fit up to a 37"x12.5" tire with on 17"-18" wheels with 5-5.25" of backspacing. If considering Fiberglass Fenders, a 4.5" Backspacing on a 9" Wide wheels will fit up to a 37x13.5" wide tire. This system was tuned with 17" wheels on, 37" Toyo M/T at 40F/35R. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.

WHEEL AND TIRE SPECIFICATIONS:

  • WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5.75" of Backspacing on Leveling Systems
  • TIRES: 37", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R
  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli Leveling Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 35", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.
  • FITTING 37" TIRES: 37" Tires will fit with the above wheel specifications if the system is equipped with Full Replacement Leaf Springs and Control Arms.

    Devotional classic for our time
    Format: Paperback
“I’ve always borne a hunger for something that seemed as distant as starlight and as wide as the night sky itself. I want the world and what is behind it, the potent beauty it simultaneously reveals and veils. I think we all do…” If you can feel the intensity of this hunger in your own life and wonder how to acknowledge it in the midst of too-busy lives and a myriad of distractions, you will be inspired to rest within the tension of this by "Reclaiming Quiet”. Sarah Clarkson has followed her previous study of God’s goodness, This Beautiful Truth, with this soothing expression of our need for quiet in order to experience the extraordinary. Using a similar narrative of personal memoir and spiritual discovery, she describes her own journey towards being satisfied with the quiet of the ordinary. She writes of how the distractions inherent in our world, while ostensibly a quest for the extraordinary, can actually lead us in the opposite direction, and how learning to cultivate quiet is so necessary. “Quiet in this world; perhaps is most often the vessel that bears us out of darkness and into hope." Each chapter closes with a gentle prayer and an invitation to ponder our own discoveries through thought-provoking questions relating to what we’ve just read. Reclaiming Quiet is surely destined to be a devotional classic for our time. I read an advance copy but I’ve already pre-purchased copies to give away and I’m planning to reread Reclaiming Quiet as a personal devotional study, but it would also be perfect as a group read/ study.

    Lovely
    Format: Paperback
"Because God does not change and his kindness does not end, though the mountains shift and whole worlds crumble, and to actually believe this means to live a different kind of life from one tossed and overturned by news of every new disaster." Love the Clarkson family's books and stories. Such a wonderful way with words. I disagree with some of the theology but still consider this a good read.

Attending to the inmost places of our heart
    Format: Paperback
Sarah Clarkson’s newest book, “Reclaiming Quiet” is a masterful journey into the heart of what it means to be quiet before the Lord. I was hooked by the foreword and by the end of the first chapter, I was thinking of numerous friends I wanted to share this book with. We live in a noisy, attention-distracting world and it’s far too easy to get sucked into one activity after another without one thought of being still, of finding the rest and restoration that our mind, body and soul crave. Sarah’s writing draws the reader in with the loveliest of vignettes from her life as a Vicar’s wife, mother of 4 and author. Her writing is lyrically gorgeous-each story comes alive by her excellent word choice and vivid descriptions. She shares her struggles with OCD and really gets to the heart of what it means to find quiet in the midst of the busyness of each day. This is not a how-to or another step-by -step book, but more of a path that will guide the reader into thoughtful pondering of what it means to be still -to make time to sit quietly and commune with our Creator. A favorite quote from her book: “One of the great gifts that comes to us when we choose to step away from the chorus and listen to the Holy Spirit, is a capacity for conviction and courage. We need to attend in the inmost places of our hearts, where God speaks…We need to listen from the inside.” Reclaiming Quiet would make an excellent book club selection for a small group or to explore on your own-you won’t be disappointed. I can see this becoming a bestseller.

    American Bullies at Bretton Woods
    Format: Hardcover
There, I said it, and I am an American. I had heard of the conference but never read about it, and certainly had never heard of Harry Dexter White, but this book goes to great length to explain what happened in this important meeting as World War II was drawing to a close and a plan needed to be developed for a new world order regarding the flows of money to facilitate trade and avoid economic disruptions that the world had seen far too much of. Steil presents more information on John Maynard Keynes than his American antithesis, Harry Dexter White, and for good reason. Keynes was simply one of the most, if not the most, brilliant intellectuals of the 20th century. His theories of economics were evolving through his life, but he is most remembered for his idea that government stimulus could help alleviate a faltering economy when the private sector failed to do the job, and he was opposed as he said to the "gold cage" that for years had been the standard of international finance. He had a biting wit, coupled with a superior intelligence that far outshone his meager appearance (he was ugly, and knew it) but he was cast in the role of a diplomat to present the case for England as the world entered the post war period. The problem was that England was broke. She had endured two world wars in the space of 30 years and the empire was begging for funds from Washington, and most of her debt to the US from the Great War was still unpaid. She also had an enemy in FDR, who was determined that the imperial preference of England after the war was to be no more. Her crown jewel, India, was pressing for independence and the empire was in the process of unwinding, as was the strength of the British sterling. Keynes pressed to have the new institutions of the World Bank and the IMF located in London, and the Americans under the leadership of White simply said "hell no." Enter Harry Dexter White. The name is as deceptive as the individual. He was a son of Jewish immigrants, graduating from Harvard late in life, but brilliant in his intellect and determined that America would rule by the strenght of the dollar and Britain was to be no more as a world power. It was interesting to me to see the Treasury Department so powerful over this whole thing. You may think that the Department of State would have more of an influence because these were important global decisions, but their input was minimal. Regardless, White was a Soviet sympathizer and was just in the process of getting raked over the coals when he died early after the war from a heart attack. Keynes also died at the age of 62, not long after the war. The world remember Keynes and White is more of a footnote. I personally did not like White. He reminded me of a Himmler with his rim glasses and nasty litte mustache. As for his boss, Henry Morganthau, Secretary of Treasury, he was little better. His idiotic plan to strip Germany of all industrial capability after the war and turn it into a nation of small farms was leaked to the press and Goebbels made hay of it, likely resulting in many more American casualities toward the end of the war. Just goes to show that FDR used some strange people in his administration. Thank God his selection of generals was far better. America was brutal toward the British at Bretton Woods. We often think of the English speaking peoples uniting and working together in true harmony to defeat the fascist nations. That is a myth and this book helps bust it. It shows to me how inhuman America was to our British allies, who bore much of the battle of this war alone, with little hope of survival. It is said that when Winston Churchill learned of the attack on Pearl Harbor, he knew that England would win the war and when he retired, he slept like a baby. Little did he know that the selfishness of the U.S. government would put a boot on the neck of England after the war. Churchill once said that the Germans were either at your throat or under your foot. The later part of that pertains to the American response to England toward the end of the war and after. A good book. Great information, and highly recommended.

This well-documented book explodes the myth of Bretton Woods. The battle between Harry White and John Maynard Keynes turns out to have been contrived.
