"When I sat down in Adobe Fresco for this one, I was chasing a specific retro vibe," says Jordan. "I wanted that classic mountain silhouette, but I didn't want it to feel sterile or mass-produced. I kept the texture and hand-drawn lines mixed in by loosely outlining the pines, ensuring the 'mark of the maker' remained at the center of the design. It captures that quiet, imposing the horizon line that always make me feel small in the woods".

Behind the Art: Meet Jordan Kempain

Every Kempain Original begins as a hand-drawn illustration. Jordan has been designing and illustrating professionally since 2009, bringing nearly two decades of industry experience to every piece in the collection. A graduate of the University of Hartford’s Art School and an active outdoorsman, Jordan draws directly from his time spent in the woods of Putnam, Connecticut, to inform every stroke of his pen.
