Measuring 8'2" x 5'9'' (250 cms x 180 cms) this rug has been skilfully and finely woven, according to traditional design patterns in Cherry Red, Royal Blue and Cream/White, of  naturally sourced and vegetable dyed sheep wool. Produced by nomads and villagers in Far South Eastern Anatolia Circa 1930s, these stunning Oriental rugs are some of the few that merge both rustic nomadic and refined town/village weaving techniques. Finely woven and intricately patterned, this rug is more influenced by the fine Oriental weavings intended for commercial trade than the more rudimentary utilitarian village weavings made for domestic use. The quality and condition of this rug is first class as the top- grade sheep wool coloured by natural/vegetable dyes used in its' construction and the skill of the weaver have ensured that the longevity and beauty of the rug is preserved, even though it has most certainly "outlived" the shepherds, shearers, spinners, dyers, craftsmen and artists who all contributed to its' creation
