Infinity - Infinite Harmony (#INFIN_01)

About: "Infinity" is a limited edition series of coastal landscape artwork, created by contemporary artist Amy Jobes. Born in Salisbury in 1982, and now living in North Devon, she has spent most of her life in close proximity to National Parks and the ocean.

The huge skies and grand expanses of the local beaches evoke feelings of connection with both our delicate and beautiful natural world, and the mysterious aspects of our higher consciousness. Emotions recalled by these experiences allow each painting to be created from the heart and woven with soul. Each image is an authentic celebration of the joy experienced when we connect with nature.

Medium: Limited to an edition run of 99, each image is printed using a 12 colour giclée fine art printing process onto a luxurious 410gsm Hahnemühle Monet cotton canvas material. The printed canvas is then carefully hand stretched over a chunky 38mm deep stretcher bar frame milled from the finest quality kiln dried knotless pine sourced from sustainable European forests. It is then finished with a stylish wooden float frame to create a special work of art - choose either a white or black float frame.

Artist Info: Amy's paintings are inspired by natural places with huge skies and distant horizons. Amy captures her emotional response to these precious, mysterious, and amazing places by painting them. Amy says, "By immersing myself in nature and the elements, I fill up my heart, then I pour it out again onto the canvas." 

Recording the extraordinary beauty and emotive qualities of a landscape is important to Amy. But equally, she hopes that her art inspires others to connect to the land and ocean in the way she does. Amy says, "I feel very lucky to live in North Devon. The gorgeous coastline and endless views of Exmoor are constant sources of inspiration. The conservation of my local beaches, moors, and woodlands is also of high importance to me. I wish for my art to indirectly encourage positive environmental actions, by moving people to begin (or rekindle) their own personal love and respect for the natural world."

Back in the studio, Amy is influenced by landscape artists such as Kurt Jackson and Turner. Listening to music as she paints and often uses song titles or lyrics to title her paintings. Oil paints are Amy's preferred medium. Oils are rich, velvety, and simply gorgeous. Using palette knives to spread the paint like butter, building on undercoats with various mark making techniques to create vibrant and textured impressionistic paintings.
