The Mega-Rail System includes everything needed for installation of the entire fuel rail system from the larger 6.7L applications onto the 5.9LCummins. This simple bolt on package gives the 5.9L Cummins an edge in airflow and fueling like never before. Finally you can get the most from your modified injection pump and performance injectors!

Using the Mega-Flo Intake Manifold, Air-Boss 67 plenum and factory Bosch HPCR parts GDP has created a package that is reliable, easy to install, and out flows any other parts combination on the market. If you're pushing the envelope on 5.9L Cummins performance the Mega-Rail kit can fuel it.

The GDP Mega-Rail System is a complete package and does not require additional parts to be purchased.Installation Kit.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • This conversion kit eliminates the factory grid heater.
  • Only for single CP3 applications.
  • If your truck is a 2003-2004 with APPS, you will also need the GDP APPS relocation bracket. If you're unsure if your truck has APPS, please contact us.

TIPS, TRICKS, AND MYTHS

Through the course of installing the Mega-rail System we have come across a few things that you may find useful.

First is the rail pressure sensor. With minor electrical connector modification, the stock 6.7L rail pressure sensor can be used on the 5.9L trucks. Due to voltage mapping differences the stock 5.9L rail pressure sensor reads roughly 13% higher than the stock 6.7L sensor at the same voltage. This kit includes a 6.7L Rail Pressure Sensor. By using the 6.7 pressure sensor on the 5.9 you can raise rail pressure approximately 13% without using a pressure box. For example, at WOT this equates to 24,860 psi actual at an ECM reported 22,000 psi. At idle reported pressure would be 5000 psi with actual being 5,650 so the difference is very small. At a reported cruise pressure of 8000 psi the actual would be 9,040 psi and this small increase is good for mileage. Since rail pressure is in essence "fooled" you will need a 6.7L rail pressure gauge connected directly to the sensor to see actual rail pressure readings.

Now, for the warnings and disclaimers...

Do not use the 6.7L rail pressure sensor if you are running a pressure box! If your tuner of choice has a rail pressure adjustment setting we recommend running the tuner at the "stock" pressure setting. Most tuners increase rail pressure to some degree. When combined with the 6.7L sensor rail pressures can get out of hand quickly. When using the 6.7L sensor always monitor actual rail pressure with a standalone 6.7L rail pressure gauge such as the unit offered by ISSPRO.

Next up is the grid heater. There has been some talk of using the stock 6.7L grid heaters (with the Mega-Rail kit) on the 5.9L head. The stock 6.7L grid heater will NOT fit the plenum opening of the 5.9L head without modification to a small casting area under the plenum cover. It can be made to work but minor grinding will be required.

We always recommend using new parts when working on the HPCR fuel systems. However, if you are looking to save some money, there are many sources for used 6.7L rails and injector lines. Wrecking yards and core supply shops have good inventory levels of used 6.7L parts now and can save you some money over buying a brand new rail and lines. Using a Mega-Rail Installation kit and a used rail setup is a great way to make big power on a budget.

Decent, but be careful of frequent use.
Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs, Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs
The looks are very nice, functional if left alone once assembled. After that I would leave them alone otherwise you risk the main male portion just coming loose of the housing, sound quality is decent, nothing to write home about, but again, not very durable. If they could fix that 1 thing, these would be very good buy and value, the rest of each plug is hefty and well made.

Great Quality and Value - Perfect Connections
Size: 10 Pairs, Pattern Name: Banana Plugs
I used these Monoprice 24k gold-plated banana plugs to connect both my surround sound and desktop speakers, and they work perfectly. The connections are solid and secure, with no looseness or signal issues. They’re easy to install, look great, and offer excellent value for the price. Highly recommended!

Fantastic speaker plug at a great price!
Size: 5 Pack, Pattern Name: Banana Plugs
This is a product that gets the job done effectively, and at a good price. Banana plugs are used to clean up speaker wire - you can generally screw in speaker wire, but banana plugs provide a nice interface that allows you to plug in and remove speaker wire as needed. These closed plugs do a good job terminating / hiding the wire. They fit very well into various components and amps that I own. INSTRUCTIONS to install / use them: * Remove around 1" - 2" of the white casing to expose the red and white individual speaker wires * Strip each wire so ~1/2" metal is showing * Make sure the plug end is screwed in tightly (this does not need to come out) * Unscrew the base of the plug from the other end * WithOUT twisting the metal wiring, insert the wire (match wire color with plug color; start with either one) from the bottom of the plug until the metal sticks out the top * Have ~1/4" metal hanging past the plug * take the wiring and drape it down the sides of the plug (just the smooth side, do NOT cover any of the screw threading or it will be very hard to close it) * Spread the draped wiring around the plug as evenly as possible (makes it easier to screw in later) * Screw the two ends of the plug back together (the side with the draped wiring will go inside the plug) * If you get stuck while screwing it back in, unscrew and adjust the wiring * Repeat for the other side, and you're done!

pretty good banana plugs
Size: 5 Pack, Pattern Name: Banana Plugs
i bought these over 6 months ago and i just installed them to the front left and right floor standing speakers - sony ssf-7000 i have them for over 10 years hooked up to a yamaha 7.1 AVR. alot of people have had trouble installing this - one single banana plug comes in 3 parts - the bottom and top (the banana plug tip) can be unscrewed. what i did was tightened the top first (top being the tip of the banana plug) then unscrew the bottom off completely - make sure you have like 3/4" - 1" (depending on your gauge of wire) of exposed speaker wire that is straight - then thread it through the hole at the bottom up - i then rolled the exposed 3/4 - 1" exposed copper wiring into a ball that is bigger than the hole of the banana plug bottom piece so the wire doesn't fall back through where it came from. then i screwed on the top and middle piece back with the bottom piece - tightening it a bit so i know there's good contact. also make sure the tip is screwed in all the way as well as a double check. what you don't want to do is have the copper wire touch the threaded part of the bottom piece - the wire will cut off from the screwing action. i plugged it into my sony speakers and it wasn't a real snug fit - a bit too loose to feel secure - it didn't seem to go all the way in - but it fit fairly well in my receiver. my intention was to use these banana plugs with my 2 channel set up but i decided to go pre-constructed mediabridge 12 AWG speaker cable instead - those fit my 2 channel set up on my receiver and elacs really snug and secure. i tested it and it works fine. i didn't hear any loss of signal or any extraneous noise. none of my (14 awg?) wiring fell through the bottom and it sounds good. so no complaints there. i bought 5 pairs - but i find that it is an odd number to include a package - even numbered pairs would be better. anyway they seem constructed well - easy enough to install and they do work. thanks for reading

High quality and robust
Size: 12 Pairs, Pattern Name: Banana Plugs
Easily the best plugs I've found at a reasonable price. Solid feeling with good quality and they look good with easy to see red/black labeling. The tips tend to unscrew too easily, but this is a non-issue when they are in use, just something you have to be careful not to lose when assembling. It's a bit tricky to spread the wire out evenly at the exact right length. If screwing the plug together is hard at all, go back and shorten how much wire you bend over the lip.
