The JBL Studio 2 8IC is a discreet, high-performance in-ceiling loudspeaker designed to deliver clear, detailed sound without dominating your living space. At its core, the Studio 2 8IC features an 8-inch PolyPlas™ woofer, producing smooth midrange and deep, controlled bass, paired with a 1-inch CMMD® Lite dome tweeter mounted on a High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) waveguide for crisp, accurate high frequencies. The tweeter can be angled towards the listening position, and a three-position level control allows fine adjustment to suit the room’s acoustics.
With an impressively wide frequency response, 8-ohm impedance, and 88 dB sensitivity, the Studio 2 8IC works beautifully with the Sonos Amp to deliver balanced, room-filling sound for larger spaces.
Installation is straightforward, thanks to JBL’s XL-2 mounting system, which fits a range of ceiling thicknesses securely. The magnetic, zero-bezel grille is paintable, ensuring the speaker blends seamlessly with any décor

Use any standard HDMI cable and the supplied Optical Audio Adapter to connect Amp to your TV’s optical audio output if your TV doesn't have an HDMI ARC port.
Stackable
The clever design of Amp makes it easy to stack multiple Amps together – either on a shelf or in a rack whilst the ultra slim design takes up very little space.
