‘Purchased this for a 7 and 8 year old boy and girl. The parallels to scripture were really easy to see and understand. The pictures are gorgeous and captivating so it was able to hold their attention while listening to the story. This isn't a book that my kids could read on their own yet due to the volume of text and the vocabulary, but when I was their age I WAS reading books like this on my own, so I guess it just depends on your kid. Mine usually rush me to go to the next page when there's a lot of text like this, but the story itself and illustrations are so captivating that they never did that ONCE with this book. They kept stopping to talk about how it's just like Jesus, and to ask questions about whether or not Jesus actually did do and say some of the things that the Prince did. I was moved to tears because I had to stop and explain that He really DID do and say those things. It was also a great opportunity to teach them "symbolism" which has never come up before, but will be useful in the future when we study Jesus' parables. I LOVE this book. Every church youth class and homeschool library should have one of these.’ Lilly
