The Fostex Model A-8 is an 8 track reel-to-reel recorder and uses 1/4" tape. This little beauty was released in the 80's and was designed by Fostex as a simple and easy to use device for small studios or home recordings. Do not let its small size deceive you as it sure packs a big analogue punch!
This is the LR version which has a few extra features such as being able to record 8 tracks at the one time!
Condition:
• This is a used item.
• This unit is in good condition for its age. It signs of wear from use and age like some marks, nicks and scratches. The plastic is cracked and chipped on one of the corners. The orange strip down the bottom has faded and there is some light surface oxidisation. There is nothing which detracts from the use, functions or sound of this awesome little unit. Please see photos.
• This unit has had a major service. This included a deep clean of the tape mechanism, the heads were cleaned, a brand new belt was installed, and demagnetisation of the heads. The electronics were serviced, any faulty parts were replaced. The record and playback levels were calibrated.
• Please be aware this unit is 100V and draws 60W of power. This means it MUST be used with a step-down transformer, not a travel adaptor. If you are unsure about this please let us know. We have some great, compatible step-downs for sale HERE.
• This sale is for the A-8 LR only. Nothing else is included in this sale.
