Precision Black Water Tank Monitoring for Mobile and Marine Applications

Reliable Level Sensing for Faeces and Toilet Waste Tanks

The Votronic Tank Level Display S for black water delivers accurate, real-time monitoring of faeces and toilet waste tanks in caravans, motorhomes, and marine vessels. Engineered in Germany, this display works with Votronic tank sensors to provide continuous level measurement, eliminating guesswork and preventing overfill incidents. Its clear 10-segment LED bar with three-colour indication allows instant visual assessment of tank capacity from 10% to 100%, even in low-light conditions.

Unlike basic float switches or generic indicators, the Votronic system uses advanced electrode-based sensing suitable for any tank material and size. This ensures consistent readings regardless of tank geometry or waste composition, reducing the risk of sensor fouling common in black water applications. The display’s continuous operation means you see real-time changes during filling and emptying, giving complete control over waste management.

Designed for Demanding Mobile Environments

With a mounting depth of only 18 mm and compact front panel dimensions of 85 x 47 mm, this display fits almost anywhere without sacrificing valuable storage space behind the panel. It integrates seamlessly into the Votronic modular system, matching other displays in height and style for a cohesive dashboard appearance. The unit operates across a wide voltage range of 10 V to 32 V, making it suitable for both 12 V and 24 V DC systems commonly found in recreational vehicles and boats.

Installation is straightforward with corner mounting holes and screw terminals rated for 0.5 Nm torque. The display can be switched on or off manually, or it will automatically power down after approximately 10 minutes to conserve battery power. A switching output provides up to 120 mA for controlling external devices like pumps or alarms, adding functional versatility.

  • 10-segment LED bar with green, yellow, and red zones for at-a-glance level reading
  • Continuous measurement with variable brightness shows filling and emptying trends
  • Wide 10 V to 32 V operating range compatible with 12 V and 24 V systems
  • Ultra-slim 18 mm mounting depth fits tight spaces behind panels
  • Automatic 10-minute shutoff conserves battery when not in use
  • Switching output (max 120 mA) for external pump or alarm control
  • Made in Germany with robust construction for long service life

Why Choose Votronic for Black Water Monitoring?

Black water tanks present unique challenges: corrosive waste, sludge buildup, and unreliable sensor readings. The Votronic system addresses these with electrode sensors that resist fouling and provide accurate data regardless of tank material—plastic, metal, or fibreglass. This reduces the risk of unexpected overflows or false empty readings that can lead to unsanitary conditions and costly cleanup.

For caravan and motorhome owners, knowing the exact toilet tank level means better trip planning and fewer stops at dump points. Marine users benefit from compliance with environmental regulations by preventing accidental discharge. The display’s clear toilet tank icon and percentage scale eliminate confusion, ensuring that even in multi-tank setups, the black water status is unmistakable.

Seamless Integration with Votronic Modular System

This display is part of the Votronic S series, designed to work with matching fresh water and grey water displays for a complete tank monitoring solution. All units share the same 85 mm height and panel-mount design, allowing a uniform dashboard layout. Retrofitting a single display is simple, and the system can be expanded as needs grow. The low current consumption (1 to 30 mA) minimises impact on battery banks, a critical factor for off-grid setups.

Take Control of Your Waste Management

Upgrade your mobile or marine sanitation system with the Votronic Tank Level Display S for black water. Order today to gain precise, reliable monitoring that helps you avoid overfills and maintain a clean, safe environment on the road or water.

Great book
Format: Paperback
Nice companion to the RTFM. I have been in INFOSEC for a while and I found most of the book to be somewhat generic. My feelings may not apply to everyone else though. There seems to be an idea out there that everyone in INFOSEC sits around grepping Snort logs and/or TCP dumps; this simply is not the case. As an incident first responder the job is fairly straight forward: isolate and collect the logs. Everyone has their own methods I guess. Some OS'es require you leave the system connected before collecting logs this book does not cover that aspect. Not everyone can afford a SANS course so in that respect this condensed field guide is a plus+. Simply put; you cannot afford to not have this book. A must buy.

Five Stars - Version 2 update very nice
Format: Paperback
Update - version 3.0 has soooo much more depth. Really nice update. Solid info, brief and informative, wide coverage on incident issues. Bought a second copy recently (gave away #1), have read through it, and the update does improve wording, fixes the few spelling errors someone complained about in V1, and has great packet header charts in the back. Got my copy autographed at a SANS conference to boot! I hear there are more titles in the series planned with a few underway.

Incredibly Useful. Repurchased for version 2.0
Format: Paperback
I was recommended this Handbook by an Incident Responder with over 10 years experience (whom was also recommended it within his professional network). I've been utilizing version 1.0 of this handbook for almost 3 months now and, I must say, it's the perfect field manual not only for Incident Responders but for any class of Information Security Professional. Back in college I started crafting a reference manual of my own wishing I had something like this. I'm happy to see that I wasn't the only person when I was recommended this Handbook. Initially my only wish was for it to have had reference diagrams for common packet headers. However, shortly after that I learned of version 2.0. For that reason, I immediately purchased version 2.0. Background: 3 years experience as an Information Security Analyst

Not Perfectly Pocket Size, but Sufficient
Format: Paperback
Fits in the jump bag & a zip lock to protect the pages - Crafted my own pocket flap inserts to add personal notes for my employer on large index cards (org chart by title with penciled in names, numbers & schedules); IT LAN map with details on each system in case it is needed in a jiff (except passwords - don't be stupid!) It didn't help me pass the minors, but I am a non-military female. I don't think God could have gotten me through those men who love to fail women!
