This cap is a WWII era cap; you can tell by the style of screw-in style insignia. This cap is made of high-quality brown felt and features its original screw back Distinctive Insignia (DI) for the 104th Reg. Unfortunately, the braided cord is missing from this cap. There is a brown ribbon like center band that is coming loose from the cap, just behind the side bow. The sweatband is in place, but it is also separated from the cap. The wide-brim design provided protection from the elements, making it a practical and iconic piece of uniform history. The hat is in good condition, showing a well-preserved patina with no visible holes. Overall, good condition.
