Each turn consists of two steps: first, you must move one of your builders into a neighboring space, with the option to move on the same level, step up one level, or step down any number of levels. Then, you must construct a building level adjacent to the builder you moved. If you reach the third level of a building, you can place a dome instead. The game is won by reaching the third level with one of your builders. Additionally, Santorini offers 40 god and hero powers, adding a layer of variability to the otherwise abstract gameplay.
