A fun, inspiring, thought-provoking read.
Format: Kindle
A witty, learned page-turner, replete with wacky anecdotes but suffused by wisdom and patriotic love. Metaxas shows how the biblical view of the human person made America possible, and weaves throughout the story pieces of evidence that Providence actively aided the pious patriots against their cynical, post-Christian enemies in Britain. I devoured this book in 72 hours, and now I want to go back and read it again.

EXCELLENT! Just the book I wanted to prepare for the 250th. Less textbook, more like a long chat with a friend. A great refresher on the important events of the birth of our nation and deep appreciation for some the men and women who don’t always get attention. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed Strangers. It was the perfect length — long enough to get invested in the characters without dragging on. The story felt very relatable and honest about how much people and marriages can change over 20 years. I appreciated how openly it explored growing apart, unmet expectations, and the complicated emotions that come with long-term relationships.
That said, while I could understand some of James’s feelings, I personally don’t think I could ever forgive him for walking away from his kids. That part stayed with me long after I finished the book.
