THE STORY:
This oil painting with silver leaf detailing of a Harris Leather western saddle is painted on an 8x10" cradled panel. This is my absolute favorite saddle I've painted so far. The wildflower tooling pattern combined with the scroll pattern on the silver leaf are so gorgeous. I only used a little bit of paint to suggest deep shadows and patterns on the silver leaf. The highlights and mid-tones are created when light reflects off the silver leaf. This painting is truly unique because it changes throughout the day based upon the light reflecting off its surface. 6 hours and 25 minutes went into creating this painting.
Was it brought along to horse shows? Maybe a little girl struggled to throw it over a school pony's back every Wednesday after school. Only the saddle's owner knows what life it's encountered; but even then, a saddle has secret memories we can only speculate through its stains and wrinkles.

Prints:
If a print is damaged during shipment, email Alex at [email protected] within a week of receiving your damaged print so we can make the proper arrangements to have the damaged items refunded or replaced. To expedite the process, please include photos of the outer packaging and damaged print.
