Our Take

This is a very friendly reference guide that is a must-have for foragers who are looking to expand the variety of edible mushrooms in their basket. We studied this guide carefully the first few years we foraged to get beyond obvious edibles like boletes and chanterelles and begin to find and try new species with confidence.  The book rates mushrooms by how easy they are to ID (beginner to advanced) and has awesome ID tips and edibility notes.

Simply put, this is the best companion book (make sure you have a regional ID book) on the market for edible mushrooms.  We are surprised this under-appreciated book is not more common among foragers: MIcheal Kuo really helped us expand our horizons - Highly recommended!

With a dash of humor and a dollop of science, Michael Kuo selects the top 100 mushrooms best suited for cooking. Like Kuo's very popular book Morels, 100 Edible Mushrooms is written in the author's inimitable, engaging, and appealing style, taking the reader on the hunt through forest and kitchen in search of mycological pleasures and culinary delights.

Kuo describes in detail how to identify each species, where and when to find them, and how to cook them in creative and delicious recipes. The mushrooms presented in the book are the most often eaten varieties, and a description of the button mushrooms found in the grocery store is included. All of the mushrooms have at least one full-color illustration and some several more to aid in identifying and distinguishing look-alike and nonedible species.

An indispensable book for mushroom hunters, naturalists, and cooks.

Comes with Battery!
Pattern Name: New Version, Color: Silver
The HP X3000 G3 Wireless Mouse (Silver) is a dependable, easygoing everyday mouse that delivers solid value for its price. It’s lightweight, comfortable to hold, and the side grips make it feel secure during long stretches of use. The scroll wheel moves smoothly, and the 1600 DPI sensor paired with Blue LED tracking keeps navigation accurate on most surfaces. One of its biggest strengths is the battery life, which can last up to 15 months on a single AA battery, making it a great option for travel or anyone who doesn’t want to think about charging. While it’s excellent for general work and browsing, it’s not built for gaming or precision‑heavy tasks, and it doesn’t offer extra buttons or customization features. A few users mention occasional sensitivity quirks, but overall it’s a reliable, no‑fuss mouse that handles everyday tasks with ease.

Dependable, Reliable

As advertised. Logitech, best mouse for your hard-earned cheddar! It’s not that the (years) old Logitech mouse failed in any operational way, it just got that gummy, sticky surface texture that’s impossible to remove. While shopping for a replacement I noticed an off-brand mouse/keyboard combo and thought, “hey, 2 for 1”…mistake. All was well for about three weeks, long enough that when the gremlins arrived I didn’t immediately associate the new hardware. For the purposes of this discussion, gentle reader, know that I run legacy (what I affectionately refer to as, “Lazarus”) builds. Rigs that started life running Windows Vista/7, died, and that now, resurrected, run 10 and 11, and all that that implies. So, when a mouse started stuttering, of course I thought it was a gremlin in the machine, right? I spent more days than I am comfortable sharing with you pouring over processes and background apps, and registry trims…before Accam’s Razor suggested I eliminate the mouse as a variable. Changing the battery was ineffective, but when I swapped in the ooold Logitech…Yahtzee/Bingo/Booyah…smooth and precise…butter! All I needed was a new Logitech mouse. So, if you’re here you likely are having mouse issues of your own, or you just need one that works…this is it! 😉

Hey, it works well. Just plug it in and you are ready to go. Only issue, minor, no light or color coding on back to indicate on or off.

I needed this little thing quickly and got it within 2 hours of ordering. It was only an extra five bucks to get it now. Would have burned more than that in fuel. Works exactly as I would have expected. Perfect.

This is a dandy little item. Easy to use straight out of the box, No fancy bells and whistles.but why should a mouse try to replicate commands that are on the laptop?
