Irish traditions are celebrated with passion and energy in a land where music and dance is as much a part of the culture as shamrocks and leprechauns. The pub lies at the heart of cultural, social and musical life in Ireland. Here you can contemplate the meaning of life, ruminate on politics, listen to a poetry reading, tap your feet to an impromptu session, feast on pub grub or just enjoy the quiet setting of a pint of Guinness in front of a warm fire. As early as the 10th Century B.C. there are documents referring to Irish music, which consisted mainly of the harp and small drums. Through the ages more instruments and styles became part of Irish music tradition.

For many folks the only form of entertainment was what they could create for themselves. A group would gather in the kitchen (the usual gathering spot!) and using brooms, spoons, a piece of wood or skin drum and with their voices create lively entertainment of dancing, clogging and song. The residents of Rathcairn Village in County Meath, one of the few remaining Irish language enclaves where people actually conduct their daily business in Irish, perform on stage to educate and keep the Gaelic traditions and native language alive.

In Northwest Ireland, music festivals are everywhere! An extraordinary way to spend the summer moving from one festival to another with a stop in a pub for a pint and more music. This 5th episode of Discoveries Ireland begins in Kilrush at Mrs Crotty's music festival then travels around the country to sample a wide variety of great Irish music and dance. From single players or small groups on the streets and cafes to scenic attractions like the Cliffs of Moher, to larger performances like Bru Boru who have given Irish traditional music, song and dance a whole new stature in the world of entertainment.’«

Fun stories for my little Spanish learners!
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
Great set of 3 books for my entry-level Spanish learning kids who are 5 & 7. The book of opposites is their favorite with a cute storyline. Everyone loves twins and piñatas! They also love to repeat the instrument names in Spanish. la guitarra 🎸 el microfono 🎤

Bilingual Books that cultivate cultural connections
Format: Board book
We absolutely LOVE the Si Sabo Kids collection. My son is obsessed with Street Vendors and I fear that without this exposure through books, he wouldn’t be exposed or know of the thrill of chasing down a paletero or buying flores fr your local flower cart. With this new collection of La Plaza we were just as excited to flip through the pages! What I love most is how the author’s honor Spanish and English in their text, but the exposure is to Spanish print first! This is very unique and purposeful for our younger generations. You will not be disappointed. My little guy has me read these daily!

Amazing Bilingual Books for Kiddos!
Format: Board book
We are obsessed with the Si Sabo Kids books! We got the first set of Street Vendors and now this is such a great addition. Our daughter loves these and reads them over and over. My husband is a spanish speaker but I am not, so this has been a great way to pass down spanish to our daughter regardless of whether you speak spanish or not. Plus, the case the books come in are so cute and stylish sitting on our bookshelf. Really makes a great present because it's a great set!

Love this set of books!
Format: Board book
As a dual language educator and mother of a bilingual child, I absolutely love these books! The set is bright, colorful and culturally rich; the three books are inspired by Latin American marketplace scenes, which makes learning feel playful and meaningful! Such a wonderful addition to any household or classroom bookshelf!
