De PRS Private Stock is het absolute topniveau van wat Paul Reed Smith bouwt — elk instrument begint met hout dat persoonlijk wordt geselecteerd uit de Private Stock Vault, de exclusieve houtreserve die PRS beheert voor zijn meest bijzondere instrumenten. Deze Special 22 in Walnut Natural Satin is daar een overtuigend voorbeeld van: een gitaar waarbij elk detail, van de figured mahonie body tot de walnut top met curly maple binding, getuigt van een obsessief oog voor kwaliteit.

De combinatie van drie pickups — twee 58/MT humbuckers en een Narrowfield in de midpositie — geeft deze gitaar een uitzonderlijk breed toonpalet. De 58/MT levert de warme, volle PAF-toon waarvoor PRS bekend staat, terwijl de Narrowfield een heldere, single-coil-achtige klank toevoegt die de gitaar veelzijdig maakt voor uiteenlopende stijlen. De 5-way schakelaar en twee mini-toggles geven volledige controle over elke combinatie. De satin nitro-afwerking laat het hout ademen en geeft de gitaar een organisch, levend gevoel onder de handen.

De walnut hals met Brazilian rosewood (met Cites)fretboard en Pattern-profiel speelt comfortabel en snel, met een 25" schaallengte en 10" radius die het midden houden tussen vintage speelgemak en moderne precisie. De Gold MOP Birds-inlays met MOP outlines zijn een kenmerk van de Private Stock-lijn en geven het instrument zijn onmiskenbare identiteit. Phase III-tuners en een Gen III Tremolo in goud completeren de hardware. Geleverd met hardcase.

I don’t know what the bad reviews are about. This is a beautiful, well made 4 panel screen. The screen print appears to be a standard print that is likely the same on every screen they produce (not hand painted by two different people). It is beautiful. Everything about it, including the colors and the screen print image on rice paper, is more lovely than the photos. The wooden frame (black) is solid and sturdy. The hinges are stable and well positioned. When people say lightweight it sounds misleading. It is lightweight enough to easily maneuver but this four panel screen is sturdy and stable. It is slim and tall so someone could conceivably bump into it and jostle it. But no more so than any number of other items in one’s home. I highly recommend this beautiful, lovely, fine piece of home decor. I purchased this as a divider between my work station (office) and my living room. Also, even though there was a slight dent in the package when it was delivered, it wasn’t a deep enough gash to damage the screen. When I pulled the screen from the box my first thought was just how study it is. So very pleased with this purchase.
