An XXX Rare EXQUISITE Large 12 cm Polished Blue and Gold Pietersite Sphere. THIS IS A SUPER RARE ITEM!  It comes with a custom made stand of hardwood driftwood with a metal cup. This is a thing of pure decadent Beauty. Fine Chatoyant and absolutely stunning. Pietersite is often compared to Tiger Eye, and is similar in many respects, but Pietersite to Tiger Eye is like precious opal to quartz same family but a HUGE difference in appearance. Pietersite has this fine silky superb chatoyancy with criss-crossing patterns and is too beautiful for words, and of course is 1000 000 times rarer. There has never been one person that has seen this sphere that hasn't buckled at the knees and oohed and aahed a LOT, as it is dazzlingly beautiful. 

We tried to mine Pietersite and mined 80 000 tons of chalk and soil, to find 99% Granite Boulders.  This material is expensive for good reason! It's rare and only comes for Outjo in Namibia. (or some nasty black stuff from China, that doesn't look like this.) This piece is 2.63 kg rough piece, cut from a 6kg block at R4000 per kg, that is over R20 000 for the rough material. (we made some cabochons and polished smaller pieces from this as well) This is from my Private Collection and I hope it doesn't sell.
