'Moto(r) Boy/ On go' Collection

“On go” is a camfranglais expression meaning “let’s go,” an invitation to move, to set off, to launch oneself forward.

But to where? Toward what horizon? There is no fixed destination — only the passage, the crossing, a wandering through the mapanes, that urban vegetation creeping through the city and threading itself through the working-class neighborhoods of Africa’s great metropolises, where the motorbike becomes the familiar vehicle of urbano-African epics.

We leave, we drift toward a place where love hides behind wildflowers, where nature sketches its lines across the landscape somewhere in the background, while the city murmurs at the edge of the horizon and stories of departure gather in the dust.

Shaped by images and memories gathered by Neals Niat during his 2023 journey to Cameroon, this new series unfolds as a chapter within Mapanes Love, extending its poetic inquiry into the delicate ties between rural life and urban longing, between love, separation, and the quiet rhythms of exodus.
