An Inspired by Gibson Custom reissue of the classic humbucker-equipped ’57 Goldtop

1957 was the year that the Les Paul™, as most players think of it today, truly came into its own. It was the first full year that it had Patent Applied For humbucker™ pickups installed. The humbuckers, along with the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece that first appeared on a Les Paul with the introduction of the Les Paul Custom in late 1953 and on the Goldtop in late 1955, were defining features that many players still prefer over the earlier models that had a wraparound bridge/tailpiece and P-90 pickups and made the Les Paul into a true fire-breathing rock icon. Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, is very proud to introduce the 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue, a stunningly authentic Inspired by Gibson Custom reissue of those early humbucker-equipped Les Paul Goldtops that delivers vintage Les Paul looks and performance at an accessible price. It has a genuine mahogany body with a carved, plain maple cap. It is finished in a new Vintage Gloss version of the classic Gold color that gives it a vintage appearance without looking overly aged. The one-piece genuine mahogany neck has a 50s Rounded Medium C profile and a long neck tenon for excellent stability and sustain. The bound rosewood fretboard is adorned with mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays and equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets, just like the original models from 1957. It has an aged mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo and the words “Les Paul Model” silkscreened in gold on the Gibson-style “open book” headstock. Even the side dot position markers are the same size as on vintage 1957 Les Paul Standard models and are placed in historically accurate locations. The hardware is nickel-plated, including the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, historical aluminum Stop Bar Tailpiece, and the Epiphone Deluxe “Single Ring” Keystone button tuners. The electronics are also first-class, with two USA Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups with Alnico 3 magnets that are hand-wired to CTS® potentiometers, Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, and a Switchcraft® pickup selector toggle switch and 1/4” output jack. A historic-inspired hardshell case with a Brown exterior and pink plush interior and Inspired by Gibson Custom Graphics is also included. The 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue isn’t just a guitar; it’s a bridge to a symphony of possibilities, willing and ready to help you make your own mark on music history.

Hancock continues his exploration of good and evil -- Spoiler alert!
Format: Paperback
In this his second historical novel Graham Hancock continues his epic saga of good and evil, ancient civilizations, religions, the paranormal, and more. His recounting here of the warfare and perversity in the time of Cortes and Moctezuma is unflinching. One wonders at times what holds him in balance against the madness and carnage he depicts. There are romantic elements in the story, and a great innocence presented in the points of view of several young people of the time, and even in the personality of Cortes there are winsome elements presented, of which he must have held several in order to have become the inspired leader he became. One fascination I found is the possibility that the evil demon god of the Mexicas (popularly but inaccurately known by most as the Aztecs), Hummingbird (I won't attempt the Mexica spelling here!) may simply have been another face of the Christian god Peter, not the Peter of the New Testament but the later Peter of the Inquisition and the New World conquest. And what is this demon god up to today? I have been unable to find an update as to when Part Two of this story may be published. It does seem that GH, from a perusal of his fascinating Facebook page (see Author.GrahamHancock) has been working on it. For me it almost seems Part One is sufficient. I can fill in the outlines and projections from my own imagination. But this book is a splendid attempt at finding a mass audience, toward gaining a readership of awakening souls to help renovate our present day logjam and remove the Moctezuma's of our time. But will we, as Cortez, find ourselves unable to truly create something better? For interested readers I recommend several writers -- Jim Marrs on the Nazis' continuation after WWII, also his "Alien Agenda," David Wilcock's (a good friend and interviewer of GH) and Wes Penre's works, much of which are free online. The only real revolution is in the human heart.

Not for the squeamish...
Format: Kindle
Let me start by saying that I'm a big fan of Mr Hancock's previous books,. I have purchased and five-starred most of them. His books are well researched, well written, lucid, and a pleasure to read. Also let me freely confess that I'm a total wimp when it comes to blood-letting, have been known to faint at the sight of blood. (delicate female here, LOL!) Anyways, while I'm sure that this book is, like all of his others, well written and interesting, I just couldn't get past the gore. Sorry, Graham -- not your fault, it's my own weakness. I really struggle with the star-rating thing here. Since the weakness is mine, and I know he's such a good writer, I'll do four stars instead of three or five -- that seems like a reasonable compromise. Hopefully he'll write another series in future that stars the good "gods" instead of the bad ones.

Graham Hancock has done it! He has mastered non-fiction AND fiction!
Format: Kindle
Oh, oh, oh this is such a good book! I love Graham Hancock's non-fiction books to begin with, but this is exactly what I needed after the Game of Thrones series. After I was done, I made anyone I could read it. It was inthralling, brutal, bloody, heart wrenching and a page turner. I blew through this book and quickly ordered the second book. I love the mixture of a more fantasy style storyline and a bit of historical accuracy ( I'm not sure how much is based in fact, but I noted a few things that I have studied in the past) This is the kind of book that keeps you locked in page after page, making every chapter "the last chapter", until you realize you have read the book in 2 sittings. Love, love this book and it sequel, and can't wait for the third installment. ( I have recently purchased his second ( or first, as I am not sure which one came first) novel Entangled, and I am ecstatic to read and review that one as I hold out for the third installment of this series. While I love his non-fiction books, these are amazing, and I hope he continues writing fiction novels.

Format: Paperback
We use this for many things but we live in hurriccane territory and they are the best analyzer of the season every year. Love their plant help, I couldn't do without it. They also have the best articles with information I can get nowhere else.

Great book and an interesting read
Format: Hardcover
Just got interested in the Farmer's Almanac last year (2025) and decided the money was well worth it. The book contains lots of information and the accuracy of the weather predictions aren't too far off. After purchasing 2026, I heard a rumor that this will be the last year for publication. I'm hoping it was a false rumor.
