EU-only collection. With his sweet, mellifluous voice, Sammy Turner was favorably compared to singers like Tommy Edwards and the Platters' Tony Williams. Like both Edwards and the Platters, Sammy enjoyed his biggest successes with rocked-up revivals of oldies like 'Sweet Annie Laurie', 'Lavender Blue', 'Always', 'Symphony', and 'Paradise', all of which made the US charts. He came to the UK in 1959 and made a couple of appearances on Boy Meets Girl, which also helped push 'Always' into the UK charts. This compilation anthologizes his recordings for the Big Top label, between 1959-61 and features the rare and collectable LAVENDER BLUE MOODS LP, alongside ten singles, including all his hits.
