The Middle Atlantic EC-3 3 Space Econo Chassis is designed for professional environments where durability, reliability, and value matter. This compact 6" deep rack enclosure provides three rack spaces (3U) of mounting space for a wide range of gear, from compact AV processors and patch panels to small network devices and control interfaces. Built to endure the rigors of installation, transportation, and daily use, the EC-3 combines sturdy construction with a clean, professional look that blends seamlessly with other Middle Atlantic components. The EC Series is known for delivering essential protection without a premium price tag, making it an ideal choice for studios, classrooms, houses of worship, small broadcast setups, rental houses, and corporate AV deployments where clean organization, sturdy protection, and quick serviceability are priorities. With its quick-to-disassemble two-piece design, a robust 16-gauge steel face, back, and bottom, and 20-gauge steel top and sides finished in a durable black powder coat, this chassis supports efficient cable management, easy maintenance, and long-term reliability in crowded racks and moveable setups alike.

  • Durable construction for demanding environments: The EC-3 uses a 16-gauge steel face, back, and bottom with 20-gauge steel top and sides to deliver rigidity and protection. Reinforced corners and welded seams help resist flex and vibration, keeping mounted equipment stable even in mobile racks, touring setups, or high-traffic control rooms. This rugged build is designed to withstand daily handling, minor bumps, and the rigors of installation bays, while maintaining smooth, secure mounting for your gear.
  • Compact 3-space design with 6" depth: Perfect for smaller rack environments, the EC-3 fits standard 19" racks while offering three full rack spaces (3U) of mounting capacity. The shallow 6" depth preserves valuable space in crowded equipment rooms, portable vehicles, or under-desk configurations, enabling you to consolidate gear without sacrificing accessibility. It’s an excellent choice for powering, patching, or housing compact processors, small-format amplifiers, interface modules, or compact networking and control devices.
  • Professional finish with corrosion resistance: A black powder coat finish provides a sleek, professional appearance while offering durable protection against corrosion, scuffs, and scratches. The finish helps the enclosure stay looking sharp in busy installations, broadcast studios, classrooms, or rental environments where equipment is frequently moved between venues. The clean, uniform look also makes it easy to align with other Middle Atlantic rack components for a cohesive, organized system.
  • Two-piece quick-disassemble design for fast service: The EC-3’s two-piece design makes installation, upgrades, and maintenance faster and more convenient. With a separable front face and chassis, you can access internal cabling and rack-mount hardware without removing the entire enclosure from the rack. This feature reduces downtime during configuration changes or gear swaps, streamlining service in live environments or multi-room installations.
  • Value-driven EC Series for budget-conscious professionals: Middle Atlantic engineered the EC Series to deliver essential rack protection, fit, and usability at an accessible price point. The EC-3 provides reliable mounting and protection without compromising on quality or compatibility, making it an ideal choice for installers who need dependable enclosures that won’t stretch project budgets. Its straightforward design supports quick procurement and scalable configurations across small studios, classrooms, houses of worship, and rental operations.

How to install Middle Atlantic 3 Space Econo Chassis, 6" Depth

  • Prepare your rack and gear: Verify that you have a standard 19" rack and that mounting rails are properly installed and aligned. Confirm that the chassis depth (6") fits within the available rack space and that there is adequate ventilation around mounted equipment.
  • Remove the front face if needed for installation: The EC-3 employs a two-piece design, allowing you to separate the front face from the chassis to facilitate easier front-mounting, cabling, and initial equipment placement. Set the front panel aside in a safe location during installation.
  • Mount the chassis in the rack: Align the chassis so that mounting ears line up with the rack rails or ears, then secure the enclosure with appropriate 10-32 or M6 mounting screws (as per your rail type and cabinet guidelines). Ensure the chassis is square and level to prevent gear misalignment and to maintain proper door or panel clearance if applicable.
  • Install equipment and manage cabling: Position your 3U of equipment inside the chassis, keeping cables tidy and routed to minimize cable strain and airflow obstruction. Use cable ties or Velcro to bundle cables and leave adequate room for ventilation behind each device. If needed, install patch panels, power distribution, or small processors in the available spaces first to optimize flow and accessibility.
  • Reattach the front face and verify operation: Reattach the front face or cover panel to protect equipment and maintain a clean appearance. Power up the rack and verify that all devices are functioning properly, with clear access for maintenance. Check that front-to-rear clearance is unobstructed, and ensure there is no excessive heat buildup around any active components.
  • Final checks and routine maintenance: Double-check mounting screws for tightness, confirm that all connections are secure, and perform a quick cable management review. Establish a routine to inspect the enclosure for dust buildup and verify vent openings remain unobstructed to preserve thermal performance over time.

Great for big dogs
Size: Medium, Number of Items: 1
Our pup is now 15 months old (nearly 110 lb and still growing). We got this ball when he was 3 or 4 months old. GOODS - - Our pup fetches with extreme drive, and the rope helps him quickly snatch the ball off the ground (versus a tennis ball, in which we are worried he will go head over heels at times) - Our pup also loves to play fetch in the water, and this ball floats great and again, the rope gives another point to bite onto - The yellow color is easy to see, even in grass - Our pup typically fetches the ball, and leaves the rope mostly out of his mouth. So, throwing the ball doesn't result in saliva-covered hands - It's pretty easy to throw the ball 50', and possible to throw it 100' - It doesn't roll/bounce, so if you are for example playing fetch on your front lawn and are concerned with a tennis ball rolling into the street, this one alleviates that issue - Our pup is spoiled and has several balls. This is absolutely his go to ball. We have woken up in the morning before to see him standing next to the bed with the ball in his mouth, asking us to get up and play. BADS - - Occasionally when he goes to fetch it, he will step on the rope as he tries to pull up on the ball. - We have gotten this ball stuck in trees multiple times. In fact, there is one stuck on the roof of our church from playing fetch on the lawn there. :-/ Not a fault of the ball, but if you start whipping it around like nunchucks, it might not go where you want. - The near max you can through this ball is 100'. And since it doesn't roll/bounce, throw distance is throttled. We often play fetch in a local baseball field, and have no issue wearing him out with this ball. However, if you are planning on throwing a ball the distance of half a football field, you might want to consider something else. SIZE - - We purchased both the medium and the large. Even though our pup is huge and can fit a soccer ball in his mouth, he still prefers the medium. It's easier for him to get in his mouth and breath while running back. The medium is the size of an orange, whereas the large is the size of a grapefruit. DURABILITY - - We have gone through about 4 of these balls, BUT this is because we lost 3 of them. We believe he dropped one out of the car window while we were driving, one is on the roof of our church, and I forget about the other one. On the first one we had, the stitching behind the black tape was down to a few threads after about 5 months. Given duration we use these balls (every day) and the joy he gets from them, I feel the durability is good for the price. - We do play tug with the ball at times, and no issues there Enjoy!

Good but better options out there.
Good ball, but is a cheaper version of the Foamster sold online. The rope is cheap and comes apart, and can be abrasive to a dogs mouth. The Foamster uses a higher quality ball and are more durable and use grippy biothane straps rather than cheap rope. They are also made to order in the USA with lots of fun colors. Worth the extra money if your dog likes these balls.

Fun toy for fetch
Size: Medium, Number of Items: 1
Daisy loves this toy. I found it from her dog trainer, and it makes rewarding her with a quick tug of war and fetch really easy. Also it’s shockingly durable. It looks like foam, but she has not destroyed this one.

Sturdy and soft like hiking on clouds
Size: Large, Color: Color Mix
I am in love with these socks! In fact I've reordered five more times and have told my hiking friends about them, and they've ordered them now, too. We all love them. This is an excellent price for a 70% Merino wool sock. They wick away moisture & keep your feet nice and dry and comfortable in your boots. They're very cushiony yet your feet do not overheat. I bought these for the gym and for hiking. I actually hike about a hundred miles a month so I can tell you these socks go through a lot with me! The ankle cut socks are perfect for both my trail runners and my actual low ankle boots. The arch support keeps the sock firm on my foot and does not allow the sock to bunch up down towards the toe. The Merino wool helps to control moisture and my feet do not stink after a 6-7 mile hike. And oh my gosh they are so soft! It's like walking on clouds. I've had no issues with holes in the socks and will definitely update later if I do. I highly recommend these socks and tell your friends about them too
