Background

Soluble transferrin receptor conventionally refers to the cleaved extracellular portion of transferrin receptor 1 that is released into serum. This receptor is a protein dimer of two identical subunits, linked together by two pairs of disulfide bonds. Its molecular mass 190,000 Dalton. Blood testing of the soluble transferrin receptor (sTfR) is used as a measure of functional iron status and the investigation of iron deficiency anemia. Ferritin, a routine investigation for anemia, is an acute-phase reactant, and may be elevated in states of inflammation, thereby falsely indicating that iron stores are adequate. Because sTfR is insensitive to inflammation, it can detect anemia in patients with preexisting inflammatory states, and is particularly useful in distinguishing between the anemia of chronic disease and anemias caused by lack of iron intake.

So far I like it a lot though, it absorbs into my face very easily and leaves it feeling extra soft and hydrated, without leaving any residue. It feels pretty lightweight on my skin too. It's a bit weird to apply because of the texture of the cream, I've just been dipping a finger in so it gets coated, then wiping it off my finger and rubbing it on my face.

Usually I use a cetaphil or cerave lotion in winter, but I have replaced that with this (a much more natural product)! ***I also love it is in glass, better for product shelf life and better for the environment!!!!!*** It is Vanilla scent but a natural scent, so it won't be strong like a perfume, it's very subtle which I appreciate. Another perk is US made, not coming from questionable manufacturers. And the price is awesome, comparable stuff is $30+ People complaining about lid :: make sure to get with a big order so your package comes in a box. I ordered once in envelope and the box was squished but the lid thankfully made it. Also yes, if in a warm environment it will be more oily/greasy. Read the ingredients, this is normal. Animal fat, beeswax, olive oil and honey all become more pliable/liquify in warmer temps.
