AXIS TD4801 Sunshield

Experience clearer signaling in any lighting condition with the AXIS TD4801 Sunshield. This screw-in accessory is engineered to improve the perception of light from the strobe siren when exposed to direct sunlight, delivering traffic-light-like clarity that helps observers recognize warnings faster. Beyond boosting visibility, the sunshield provides essential protection against sun radiation, aiding thermal regulation and extending the life of the beacon in outdoor environments. With a compact, straightforward installation, the TD4801 Sunshield combines everyday practicality with rugged durability, making it an ideal upgrade for emergency services, traffic management teams, and security deployments that demand consistent performance in bright, hot, or variable conditions.

  • Optimized daylight visibility: The sunshield channels and diffuses light from the strobe to maximize conspicuity in daylight. By narrowing the light source and reducing glare, the unit remains legible from greater distances, even in bright sun. The traffic-light-like perception helps observers quickly recognize the warning signal without misinterpretation, which is critical in fast-moving outdoor scenarios. It complements the strobe by preventing washed-out signals when direct sunlight hits the beacon, ensuring that color, intensity, and timing are preserved for optimal signaling performance. The result is a more reliable alert that improves safety and response times for first responders, traffic controllers, and security personnel.
  • Sun protection and UV shielding: Direct sun exposure can degrade optics and housing over time. The TD4801 Sunshield protects sensitive components from ultraviolet radiation, reducing material degradation and color fading. By blocking high-energy UV rays, the accessory helps preserve the integrity of the strobe's optics and housing, maintaining clarity of the emitted light and the overall appearance of the beacon in outdoor deployments. This protection also helps stabilize performance in hot environments where overheating could influence color temperature and brightness, contributing to consistent visibility across shifts and seasons.
  • Thermal management for stable performance: Outdoor lighting systems are susceptible to heat, which can affect electronics and light output. The sunshield contributes to temperature regulation by limiting direct sun exposure on the strobe housing. This reduces heat absorption, helps keep internal temperatures within operating ranges, and minimizes thermal throttling that can otherwise dim the light or shorten duty cycles. By mitigating heat buildup, the TD4801 Sunshield supports longer, more reliable signaling during extended operations or in high-temperature climates, so responders have dependable light when every second counts.
  • Easy screw-in installation with secure fit: The TD4801 Sunshield is designed for straightforward, tool-assisted installation without requiring major modifications. The screw-in design lets technicians attach the shield quickly to compatible AXIS strobe sirens, ensuring a snug, vibration-resistant fit in demanding outdoor environments. The absence of complex brackets or adapters reduces setup time and maintenance hassles, while the robust construction resists wind, rain, and vibrations typical of outdoor sites. Once installed, the sunshield stays in place, maintaining consistent light performance even in challenging conditions.
  • Durable, weather-ready construction and long-term value: Built to withstand the rigors of field use, the sunshield employs rugged materials chosen for outdoor reliability. Its compact footprint adds minimal bulk while delivering meaningful gains in visibility and protection. The combination of glare reduction, sun shielding, and thermal regulation means fewer replacements and less downtime due to sun-related wear. For fleets, municipal agencies, and emergency services that rely on steady, unambiguous signaling, the AXIS TD4801 Sunshield provides a cost-effective upgrade that preserves the performance and appearance of your strobe siren across seasons and deployments.

How to install AXIS TD4801 Sunshield

  • Power down the strobe siren and verify there is no active current that could cause an electrical shock or misalignment.
  • Align the sunshield with the mounting points on the strobe housing. Ensure the screw holes line up with the siren's body to avoid cross-threading.
  • Insert screws provided with the sunshield (or compatible fasteners) and begin tightening by hand to avoid cross-threading, then snug with a screwdriver until the shield sits flush against the housing.
  • Confirm the light path is unobstructed and that the shield does not impede mounting hardware, connectors, or cables. Reconnect power and perform a brief test to verify the strobe's visibility remains clear with daylight conditions.
  • Secure any cables or harnesses and perform a final functional check in typical operational lighting to ensure reliability and stability under expected outdoor conditions.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the AXIS TD4801 Sunshield? It is a sunshield accessory designed to improve daylight visibility of the AXIS TD4801 strobe siren while providing protection against sun radiation to support reliable operation outdoors.
  • Does the sunshield enhance visibility in bright sunlight? Yes. By reducing glare and diffusing light, it helps the strobe be seen more clearly in daylight, similar to how a traffic light reads in bright conditions.
  • Is the TD4801 Sunshield easy to install? The design uses a screw-in mounting approach that installs quickly without major modifications, making it suitable for field technicians and maintenance teams.
  • Will the sunshield affect the strobe's color or brightness? The shield is designed to enhance visibility without altering the emitted light's color temperature or intensity. It primarily reduces glare and optimizes light perception under sun exposure.

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.

Interesting
Format: Kindle
So I will say I enjoyed the story, for sure had its moments where it dragged but it was a great story. I really liked that omegas picked their alphas/make the pack. Normally the Alphas make it and the omega fits in with them which is great but I enjoyed this new version where all the power basically went to the omega. It was a nice change of pace. I can admit some of the weird bedroom stuff with her being pregnant was odd, it’s really not hard to do stuff when pregnant (I know I’ve had two and it’s normal and even encouraged at the end especially if you want the baby out). But I like the story as a whole and will read the second, I do hope the next one isn’t dragged bc it stopped being action or tense after she met her alphas and I don’t think it was brought up or properly done when they tried to do it. More sweet after she left.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.
