The perfectly balanced mid-engine 986 Boxster was designed to deliver driving excitement on winding roads while enabling the driver (and passenger) to take in the sights of the surrounding environment while listening to the intoxicating mechanical symphony of the flat 6 exhaust soundtrack.

The feel of a Boxster can only be further heightened by adding improved performance. The IPD Plenums provide impressive net power and torque gains throughout both power bands making for an even more visceral Porsche driving experience.

All 986 Boxster IPD Plenum applications are designed to utilize the larger 74mm Porsche throttle body. The combination of the patented "Y" designed IPD Plenum combined with a larger TB, allows for improved airflow and intake air velocity. Porsche wants the Boxster to perform, just not so well that it competes with more “prestigious” models. Controlling (aka Reducing) engine output has effectively been achieved by simply choking the inlet air with smaller throttle bodies, preventing peak power from being realized.

The IPD Plenum is the absolute single best performance mod you can install on a Porsche Boxster. Installation of this plenum is relatively straightforward although IPD strongly recommends the install be performed by a qualified Porsche technician. The Plenum comes with our custom silicone hose that fits the larger 74mm TB as well as additional hardware to complete the installation. The only additional component required is the 74mm Throttle Body which can be purchased separately below.
