The new Vaughn Velocity VX1 Pro Caron pad is made to give a more traditional feel with modern technology for that elite level goalie. The pad features a full pure carbon insert along with pro quality internal foam and materials to give a tight seal in the butterfly and help give a well balanced feel.

 Vaughn has gone with a lighter, slimmer design with a firmer core, this pad delivers livelier rebounds. QuickSlide technology and RRC+ strap provide improved slide and control, while MSH technology in the knee cradle allows for quicker butterfly rotation. Plus, with a wide knee cradle and removable outer knee wing, this pad seamlessly integrates with knee pads of all sizes. 

EXTERNAL MATERIALS

Domestically made the VX1 Pro Carbon is made with the best material that is available to them which includes the strong leather face material and the durable QuickSlide material that's used on the inside sliding edge. Connecting the pad to your leg we have a Nash like material that lines the calf & knee section of the pad which also works in helping the pad rotate around your leg for a solid seal in the butterfly.

INTERNAL DESIGN

Internally the VX1 features an integrated knee landing pad that is connected to the inner core to respond with your movement immediately. We also see a full pure carbon core with HD molded foam to keep weight down and a consistent shape with each pad made, this core gives a firmer face so rebounds are going to be hot coming off the face of the pad while still controllable so you can direct the puck where you want it to go. 

STRAPPING & KNEE CRADLE

On the VX1 the knee cradle has been made slightly wider to help accommodate for a range of different knee protectors that are available, you also have a laced in outer knee wing so if you want even more room at the knee you can remove the knee wing and place the knee Velcro down to the calf. Helping hold the pad to your leg Vaughn uses RRC strapping (Reactive Rotation Control) which is easy to adjust for your comfort, with our RRC straps we have gone with a Medium  upper calf strap and a short lower calf strap. If you wish to remove one of the straps they are Velcro attached so you can easily remove one if you wish.
