About this item:
- Vark, also called varak (also silver leaf, German paper), is any leaf composed of pure metals, typically silver but sometimes gold, used on south Asian sweets
- The silver is edible, though flavorless. Varak is made by pounding silver into sheets, a few micrometers thick, typically 0.2 -0.8 microm. The sheets are typically backed with paper for support, this paper is peeled away before use. It is fragile and breaks into smaller pieces if handled with direct skin contact.
- It is also commonly used in India as a coating on dry fruits (such as almonds, cashews, and dates), and in sugar balls, betel nuts, cardamom, and other spices. Cardamom-coated sweets are very commonly present in the market
- The estimated consumption of vark is 275 tons (according to BWC-Beauty without cruelty data) annually. Hindu and Jain religions are mostly vegetarian, thus the Indian market for vark has mostly converted to using the vegetarian process in the making of the silver leaves.

Good but not as tough as advertised

My dog absolutely loved this toy. He was obsessed immediately! It was his (and our) first crinkle toy. He loves the crinkle though it’s a bit distracting for me as it kind of sounds like he’s getting into something he shouldn’t. I love that there are two squeakers, one in the belly and one in one of the handles to squeak on during tug of war. Though he enjoys this toy, the head ripped off during a mild tug only about a few hrs after delivery. My dog is a medium sized 25 lb dog, he is not super strong or a super chewer by any means so I was surprised that it tore so easily. The fabric itself seems strong enough to withstand mild chewing but the seams aren’t as tough as they are advertised. If you don’t mind mending your dogs toys, it’s a very fun toy that’s easy to play with your dog as the handles work well for tug of war, just keep in mind that anything over a small sized dog will probably tear this toy apart during a play session.

In a 4 dog household we go through a lot of toys. My dogs love the size and weight of this toy. Very well built, light, and durable. I like that there was no squeaker. Good price for a durable toy.

Worth it, even though it doesn't last too long with 2 dogs

It didn't last long, but my pups loved it! I have a 4 month old and an 8 month old puppy and they LOVE too play. They also love to fight over toys. This was the perfect you for them. They kept each other busy playing tug of war with it for hours at a time. After maybe a week they managed to top the ropes out, but the food is still intact, although they're less interested in it now. I'll probably buy them another one since they lived it so much.

Durable tug-of-war, active chewer dogs delight
Pattern Name: Donkey
This is one of the better tug-of-war dog toys that I have purchased for my dog. It definitely is durable and lasts longer than any of the other ones that I’ve purchased for my Chihuahua/terrier. After many months of enjoyment, I finally had to buy her a new one, just like it and I also purchased one for my friend that has a little Yorky. I do recommend this toy.
