Each aperture is a frame within its own right is fastened together giving a 3D effect. The matt finish on each aperture has brush stroke effects and the inside edge of each frame is roughly painted in a matt, contrasting paint. The internal glass protects the photos inside and each image is put into the back of the frame by removing each individual backboard and then fixing it back using the metal tags. The seven apertures take different size images with five 6x4 inch apertures and two apertures which are approximately four inches square. The overall size of the frame is approximately 19.25 x 17.5 inches overall and it is 1.25 inches deep. The serrated bar at the back hangs the frame from the top and the serration means that the frame will always hang straight. The muted browns, grey and white colours give the frame a soft feel
