This painting tells the story of a woman who has embraced her vibrant chaos — she is not broken or lost, but in full metamorphosis. The explosive fluid forms flowing across her eyes represent emotion, energy, and intuition. She is intentionally blindfolded by the colours of her own becoming — because real transformation doesn’t always begin with what we see, but with what we feel.

The bold, fluid technique I’ve used here is about surrender — letting go of control, allowing gravity and paint to move together like emotion on a journey. You’ll notice the mix of scarlet reds, electric turquoise, and sunshine yellows — these weren’t chosen randomly. Red speaks to passion and personal power. Turquoise brings emotional depth and healing. And the yellows, bursting into golden sunflowers, symbolise joy, light, and clarity — the parts of her soul that are blooming despite the chaos.

And then there’s the monarch butterfly.

The butterfly isn’t just a symbol of transformation — it’s also delicate, determined, and deeply spiritual. In this painting, she is the monarch. Evolving. Awakening. Flourishing. Even with her eyes closed to the world, she sees everything within herself.
