ABOUT THE PIECE
Arctic terns are serious globetrotters, best known for their annual pole to pole expeditions. At an annual average of 55,000 miles, their migration is the longest in the world, moving them through all five oceans, and they can fly up to a thousand miles in just a day. I'm fascinated by the wild dives these birds make as they plunge straight down from the sky to seize a fish out of the ocean, and it was this posture I wanted to capture in my miniature artistic rendition of these astonishing creatures.
