Why Choose the Garmin R10 SwingBay® Package?
A few things worth knowing before you buy. The R10 calculates spin rate from club data rather than measuring it directly — no ball marking required, but spin numbers are estimates rather than raw optical measurements. For simulation, course play, and swing improvement this works well. If precise spin data matters for your use case, the Garmin R50 uses camera and radar fusion for direct measurement. Home Tee Hero requires a Garmin Golf subscription sold separately. Third-party simulator platforms carry their own subscription fees. A PC is required for PC-based simulator software and is not included.

The SwingBay® enclosure requires a minimum footprint of 11'W x 15'D x 8.1'H. The Garmin R10 needs to sit 6–8 feet behind the ball with at least 8 feet of ball flight to the screen — making 14' of total depth the working minimum. Yes — a garage is one of the most common setups for this package. The main things to check: 14' of depth minimum (more is better), 8.1' of ceiling height for the SwingBay®, and enough width for a comfortable swing. One thing specific to the R10 — metal garage door tracks and large metal objects near the radar path can cause interference. Keep the R10's line of sight clear and you'll be fine. For the Garmin Golf app and Home Tee Hero, all you need is a compatible iPhone or Android phone — no PC required. For PC-based simulator software like GSPro or E6 Connect, a Windows PC is required and sold separately. The projector in this package connects via the included 25' HDMI cable.
