The art of block printing has been passed down through generations within families and communities. The process begins with designing the block pattern on paper, followed by hand-carving onto wooden blocks measuring approximately 18-24cm.

These blocks are then dipped in natural dyes and carefully stamped onto the fabric, with each color pattern applied individually. Block carving is a precise art that requires years of apprenticeship and is done entirely by hand. The process is time-consuming and requires skill, as each color is stamped repeatedly across the fabric to achieve the final design. The subtle gaps and overlaps in the pattern are a beautiful hallmark of handmade craftsmanship, giving block printing its distinctive and timeless appeal.
