Onderstroom present a reissue of Glorious Din's Closely Watched Trains, originally released in 1987. How a boy from the Sri Lankan jungle formed the greatest post-punk band you've never heard. Fronted by an intense singer with an oblique songbook and a mysterious past, Glorious Din was unlike any other group to emerge from San Francisco's '80s underground. With singer Eric Cope, the chosen persona of a Joy Division-obsessed Sri Lankan boy who travelled halfway around the world to follow his punk dream. The multifaceted nature of the '80s scene - encompassing everything from three-chord thrash punk to garage-band pop, experimental art rock, and atonal noise - can seem baffling to outsiders. Glorious Din mesmerizing sound instantly gets under your skin via their non-standard drum patterns, Eastern-sounding guitar melodies, a melodic bass in pole position, and a dissociative singer. The enigmatic group helped total unknowns gain recognition and were the uncommon glue linking Faith No More, the Dead Kennedys, and Michael Franti, as well as R.E.M. and the Cocteau Twins. Glorious Din's appeal was their mysteriousness: a quartet of mismatched musicians not necessarily playing their chosen instruments, with the obscure lyrics of their intense frontman near impossible to decipher. The group imploded after only three years, but their cult appeal has lasted far longer through their two albums and related material. Glorious Din's second album, Closely Watched Trains, had a very different sound from it's predecessor. Eric was listening to a lot of Nick Drake, so they mixed the vocals and guitar much louder than the other instruments. Nevertheless, the album showed a growth and maturity on the band's part. Paget plays a metal dobro on some numbers, which adds a sheen of folk to the post-punk proceedings, as heard on the opener "Stilt Walkers". "1651 Map" has Cope seemingly recounting a colonial uprising or an industrial dispute over a sparse rhythm led by Paget's minimal guitar, and early number "Voices Everywhere" is here reprised as a joyous blast, the lyrics speaking of a pending arrival. Paget is well-represented with "Red Dirt", which has fantastic modulated bass from Heeschen, "Circle Star", another freedom track, and the melodious "Blood". Now exactly 30 years later, Closely Watched Trains is still a more than rewarding listen and a vivid document of the times. Cover reconstruction by Jeroen Wille. Smells Like You Have Your Life Together
Scent: Bergamot, Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Cremo Body Wash with Italian Bergamot, Neroli Blossom, and Fresh Vetiver smells far more expensive than it has any right to. The scent hits that sweet spot between fresh and refined. The bergamot gives it a clean citrus lift, the neroli adds a smooth floral edge, and the vetiver grounds it with a subtle, masculine depth that does not scream but absolutely speaks.
The lather is rich and concentrated, so you only need a small amount. It feels more like something you would find in a boutique hotel than on a regular store shelf. The fragrance lingers just enough to be noticed without overpowering your cologne or filling the entire room.
If you want to step out of the shower smelling like competence and quiet confidence, this one delivers. It is polished without trying too hard, and it makes everyday showers feel slightly upgraded.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Spells great
I use this product everyday and have used an entire set. They smell great and get you clean, there is a loofa bag included where you put the soap inside and makes scrubbing convenient.
Recommend if you want to feel clean and smell really good.. this is the set you can use. I know the ladies like it a lot. I get compliments all the time.
One lady told me "You smell like money"... LOL.. true story.

Great scent, but leaves a film on my skin.
I was expecting bars of soap with more of a peppermint/eucalyptus fragrance and I just could not relate those fragrances to what the soap actually smells like. The Viking Revolution soap doesn't smell bad per se, and actually for me is rather fragrance neutral like you might find with the more sterile hospital and clinic type soaps.
The lather factor for the Viking Revolution soap is mild to moderate in our hard water. It doesn't overdo lathering up but does lather up enough to let you know it is soap and is rather pleasing when rinsing it off where with some soaps you rinse and rinse and still need to rinse more to get the lather off your skin.
I wash my hands and face many times throughout the day and night and so far the Viking Revolution soap has done a great job in leaving me feel a bit more refreshed and clean. I have noticed a bit of moisturizing of my face and hands being much softer after use, so the Viking Revolution soap does seem to come through with that feature. I handle and am around livestock and animals quite often and did notice that the soap seemed to cut through the grime pretty easily. I haven't tried the Viking Revolution as a body wash type soap. The square bars are just about a perfect fit for my hand and are easy to hold onto. I will use one bar for the shower and keep the bar in a drip rack where it has a chance to dry out after use.
I do really like the presentation of the soap itself and it's a nice touch that each bar comes individually wrapped and includes a sticker and a small card. A rather attractive package if you are giving it for a gift. I'm more favorable of recommending this soap than not recommending it. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is for the fragrances not really being detectable as peppermint and eucalyptus.I do think I would buy this soap again though, fragrance or not.
