Ska was the name given to the music that came out of Jamaica between 1961-1966. Based on the American R&B and doo-wop records that the sound systems in Kingston Town used to play. However, the American records style started to mellow out, while the Jamaicans preferred a more upbeat sound. So the sound system bosses became record producers to cater for this demand. Sir "Coxsone" Dodd and Duke Reid led the way putting the top musicians on the Island in the studio to make music unmistakably Jamaican. A lot of their early recordings were cut at Federal Records before they built their own studios. Federal Records was the first domestic Jamaican studio, based at 220 Foreshore Road, Hagley Park, Kingston. It opened it's doors in 1961 and was owned by Ken Khouri who first licensed American records to the island of Jamaica, before cutting his own tunes, which were some of the first Jamaican R&B and ska singles. Ken Khouri initial studio was Records Limited but very basic so with the help of engineer Graeme Goodall built the new studio complex at 220 Foreshore Road which also contained a pressing plant and disc cutting room. The studio was not only the forerunner for ska music but the music that followed and in 1981 Ken Khouri sold the complex now on the renamed road Marcus Garvey Drive to Bob Marley who renamed the premises Tuff Gong Studios whose legacy carries on today. Kingston Sounds have compiled some of the best ska sounds that came out of the Federal Vaults, with some of the best artists, musicians from the time. The great Lord Tanomo, Don Drummond, Rico Rodriguez, Roland Alphonso, alongside some lesser-known artists. However, one thing is for sure, the quality never drops on this fine collection of ska hot tunes. Also features Reuben Anderson, The Skatalites, Ferdie Nelson, Bibby And The Astronauts, Ivan Jap, and Jackie Opel. CD version includes four bonus tracks featuring: Lord Tanomo, The Decons, Lloyd Brevett, and Ferdie Nelson.

Love these tunics!
Color: Aprioct Boho Yg9, Size: XX-Large
I absolutely love these tunics! They are very figure flattering & so soft & comfortable to wear. The material is on the thinner side so they are great for warmer weather. I have very sensitive skin so many fabrics irritate me but this one is fabulous. I would wash on gentle & hang to dry to keep fabric looking nice. After wearing the first one, I ordered 3 more…

Pretty Tunic Top
Color: Willowfloral, Size: X-Large
Very happy with this tunic top! Long enough for me to feel good about wearing it with leggings, but not SO long it feels like a dress. Really good V-neck, not just a little notch at the top that some brands call a v-neck. I ordered the teal floral XL and was very happy with the fit and drape. I'm a size 18W with a 42D bust and a chubby waistline. I often end up in XXL or 1X tops, but this fit well as an XL. Nice feel to the material and a bargain at the price!

Very flattering in my opinion
I'm 5'6 and no hips, so I really liked that the length is a little longer and flares a little at the hips giving my chunky but not curvy figure some illusion of a girlish figure. The pattern and colors were pretty & I'd say pretty close to the ad. Great blues and a coral/peach ... not sure my camera did it justice. I like the pleat at the back ... I feel that it minimizes the bra bulge that can happen at times. I stepped out after try on and my guy said it looked great (he's a truth teller with clothes) so that made me feel better because sometimes I see what I want to see at first & later see the flaws. I do see the case instructions ... getting used to hang to dry all things lately. Feels a little more nylon-ish but not bad. Its not super thin and light where I think it's a clingy thing. Really do like this shirt

Nice, but not great fabric quality
Color: Floral Black, Size: Large
The fit was great. Colors were as shown. The fabric shows signs of wear pretty much on the second wear so durability isn’t great. The fabric is soft and light weight so perfect for spring and fall. Not sure I’d buy again as I think it will look worn out quickly.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!
Color: Boho Multicolor, Size: XX-Large
Wow. These are really nice tops. The material is soft and very comfortable and the fit is true to size. Colors are as pictured. They look and feel like they cost a lot more! I initially order this in 2 different patterns (Boho and Willowfloral) and I just now ordered 3 more, black, purple, and wine red. Can easily be worn all year round and can be dressed up or down. All in all, I’m very pleased with this purchase.
