Designed for electric guitar and electric bass players, the One Series Gemini Chorus from Source Audio is a pedal which sports three onboard styles of stereo chorus modulation, and can work quite well on mono pedalboards too. The pedal provides control over depth, speed, and tone parameters, as well as a mix knob for blending dry signal with your processed results. A three-position toggle switch offers different modes. Classic is a single-voiced effect reminiscent of chorusing stompboxes from the 1970s. Dual mode gives you a more animated, yet still smooth, double-voice effect. For a tone more evocative of the 1980s, try the Quad mode, which captures the rackmount units of the shoulder-padded epoch in all its not-so-subtle glory. Once you’ve selected your mode, its speed, and its depth, you can further tailor the sound with the mix and tone knobs, achieve the desired level and frequency balance of the effect.
However, these are just the effects provided straight out of the box. Play around with the included Neuro Mobile App (for iOS and Android), and you’ll be able to edit a whole host of parameters. Extensive editing enables you to customize your own signature tones, and what's more, save them to different positions of the toggle switch. You can also load in tonal presets from the Mercury Flanger and Lunar Phaser pedals; if you wanted to, you could run a chorus, a phaser, and a flanger from different positions of the toggle switch—effectively giving you access to three pedals in one stompbox enclosure. With connections for MIDI control, expression control, and Hot Hand control (in which you use a proprietary ring-like device to modulate effect parameters straight from your picking hand), you can achieve even more real-time manipulation of chorus effects.
