Designed for service providers and data centers that demand scalable, high-throughput routing with reliable management, the Cisco NCS 4000 Router Processor and Controller delivers a robust hardware foundation for core routing, edge aggregation, and network analytics. Built around an Intel Ivy Bridge 10-core CPU and paired with generous memory and fast SSD storage, this module ensures smooth operation under heavy traffic, complex routing protocols, and real-time monitoring. The inclusion of a second SSD accessible through the ECU faceplate expands data retention for logs and operational data, enabling deeper diagnostics, longer-term analytics, and rapid incident response without impacting routing performance. With Cisco’s trusted engineering, this component integrates seamlessly into the NCS 4000 ecosystem, providing a dependable, scalable, and manageable platform for demanding networks.

  • Powerful 10-core Intel Ivy Bridge CPU — The NCS 4000 Router Processor is engineered around an Intel Ivy Bridge 10-core processor designed to handle simultaneous control and data-plane tasks with exceptional concurrency. This multi-core architecture reduces packet processing bottlenecks, enables efficient handling of large routing tables, and supports performance-intensive features such as route analytics, policy-based routing, and virtualization workloads. In practice, this means higher sustained throughput, lower latency during peak traffic, and improved responsiveness for management plane operations even as network demands grow.
  • Generous 32 GB RAM for virtualization and buffering — With a substantial 32 GB of installed memory, this module supports large-scale routing tables, virtual network functions, and stateful services without compromising performance. The ample RAM enables robust buffering for bursty traffic, fast context switches, and efficient handling of control plane data, which translates to smoother failover, faster convergence, and improved quality of service for critical applications. This memory capacity also supports future software features and scale-out workloads without requiring immediate hardware refresh.
  • Dual SSD storage for speed and logging — A fast onboard 50 GB SSD provides quick access to firmware images, routing state, and essential logs, ensuring rapid boot times and reliable system state retention. The second SSD, accessible through the ECU faceplate, adds generous space for extended logging data, diagnostic artifacts, and analytics datasets. This dual-storage arrangement helps keep primary routing operations isolated from heavy logging activity, preserving throughput while enabling comprehensive data retention for audits, performance tuning, and post-incident analysis.
  • ECU faceplate access for extended data and diagnostics — The External Connection Unit (ECU) faceplate makes it straightforward to reach the secondary storage and logging streams for quick diagnostics and data extraction. This design simplifies remote troubleshooting, forensics, and compliance reporting by providing direct access to historical performance metrics, event logs, and system telemetry without disrupting normal routing operations. Operators gain faster root-cause analysis and longer retention of critical network data, supporting proactive maintenance and SLA adherence.
  • Designed for Cisco NCS 4000 ecosystem with reliable integration — Engineered to integrate with the Cisco NCS 4000 chassis and management stack, this Router Processor and Controller offers cohesive software compatibility, streamlined firmware updates, and consistent management experiences. The module aligns with Cisco’s reliability and serviceability standards, enabling predictable behavior, straightforward monitoring, and simplified capacity planning for service provider deployments and enterprise data centers that rely on the NCS 4000 family for scalable, resilient networking.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
